Laurines apartment was excellent as a base for staying in NY. Very close to the subway for downtown and in a really exciting neighbourhood. Laurine was really helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Thanks so much.
Laurine was simply great! She was there when we arrived from LGA. She showed us the clean apartment. The pics are accurate. She gave us a few tips on the area, as well as the keys. Towels were provided, as well as toilet paper. There is a fully-functioning kitchen if needed. The area is safe, and there is a great deli convenience store on W. 133rd St. a block North, where you can have a great Hero Chicken Club sandwich for only $5. The main (email hidden). is only a short walk away, where the A or C Express Train is available into downtown Manhattan, and where the famous Apollo Theater is located. Plenty of soul food places in the area. If you like a speakeasy, 67 Orange Street is very good. Wi-Fi is provided. Limited Cable TV as well.
Laurine was a most attentive host, she was at the apartment to greet us upon our late arrival at 9pm which was greatly appreciated. The location of the apartment was quite convenient to subway (about 7 mins walk) and we felt safe within the neighbourhood. We stayed at Laurine's apartment for 8 nights and felt that it was 6 nights too long. We were not prepared for how 'old and shabby' the apartment was, nor for the noise of the neighbours in the above apartment. We couldn't sleep before 2am any night. We know that Laurine did everything she could to make us comfortable and that the noise was just the nature of the building.
Appartment was exactly how we expected it from the description. Plenty of room, tidy and close to the subway. A small supermarket is located 1 min away. Laurine was very helpful when checking us in and we had a great stay.
Three of us stayed for four nights in Laurine's apartment. It was very clean and comfortable. Laurine was a wonderful host, allowing us to check in early and leave our bags in a safe spot before our evening flight. She responded to any inquires we had while in NYC quickly.
The neighbourhood is great and such a historic part of the city. Access to the subway was good and just a short walk from the apartment.
We'd definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for clean, comfortable accommodation in a historic New York neighbourhood.
We had a lovely 4 night stay at Laurines apartment. The main bedroom was huge and very comfortable and the bunk bed room is smaller but fine for our purposes. The kitchen was well equipped and the apartment was in a good location to travel across Manhatten easily- took about 7 mins to walk to the subway. We met Laurine on our last day and she was very warm and helpful.
A couple of things that we would have appreciated knowing in advance- this apartment is in a gorgeous Brownstone building with very steep steps and heavy doors, which was extremely difficult to manage with a pram and luggage. It is also worth noting that this isn't Laurines home but it is an apartment that she lets out regularly. This was a bit of a disappointment as I tend to like Air BnB as a way of spending time in a 'home from home'. The apartment as a result was quite cheaply decorated, with tiles missing from the bathroom and the sofa was broken and very uncomfortable. It didn't really matter as we were only there a few days and I'm sure if we had mentioned any problems to Laurine she would have fixed them where possible.
She is an amazing host. The apartment is really nice.
The host canceled this reservation 5 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
I was deeply sadden to cancel Wang's reservation.
Unfortunately, my home needed emergency maintenance and would not be suitable to host. I am deeply sorry.
Host: Laurine was responsive and helpful during the booking process, answering our questions fully and promptly. On arrival Laurine was very welcoming, showing us around the apartment/building. She is local to the area, and shared lots of tips about travel/transport around NYC etc. Laurine and her family live very close by, and were available throughout our stay if we needed them. The neighbours were very friendly and helpful too!
Location: Harlem is vibrant, and there is a real sense of community. There are great places to eat locally, some fab bars with live music. Transport to lower Manhattan is fantastic, the express 'A' train is a few streets away, and it is just a couple of stops via this to Times Sq. The M10 bus stops at the end of the street, taking you to Central Park and beyond. We were 3 women and never felt threatened or concerned returning to the neighbourhood at night. It's a great place to stay!
Apartment: it is exactly as described, but we thought it was a bit more spacious than the photos suggested. It is homely, well-equipped with everything you need for a short stay or longer. The wifi is fast and reliable.
Overall: a great place for families, friends or couples, with a reliable and responsive host.
great location just 5 minutes from the metro and supermarkets. spacious and clean. really recommended. Thanks for all :)
Was great to deal with.
Very much recommended
