I'm all about cultural mixing, both in my blood (Colombian and Scottish mix) and my work. Since returning to my hometown of Memphis, I've been developing an arts center in downtown (blocks from my home) where emerging musicians, dancers, filmmakers, performing artists and visual artists of all stripes can mix and match. I recently put together a short film that fuses classical music and hip-hop as well as ballet and jookin', a local urban street dance. A feature-length version is now in the works. So much fun.
Born and raised in Memphis, I left after high school to explore parts unknown--both nationally and internationally. Then I realized what a badass city I'm from and after 15 years of being away, I came back to add my two cents.
I'm an arts & culture freak and love biking, playing in the ocean, eating spicy foods, and messing around on the guitar. Plus I continually need a nature fix, even if it's just jogging along the mighty Mississippi.
Now I'm realizing that I might have a nice touch on interiors--thanks to guest feedback. My taste is a mix of Southern and Latin--i.e. me. Guests seem to appreciate my condo's eclectic yet homey vibe. I also get a keen satisfaction with being a host. Steering my guests to the cooler local spots in town always seems to make my guests' stay more special, which gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling. I've met some great people through Airbnb, both as a host and as a guest. Kinda cool.
