We had to drive through a snowstorm in the dark to get here, but it was so worth it! We got to stay in the Red Room: very cozy, a seriously comfortable bed and private bath with a clawfoot tub. What more could you want? Though we didn't get to spend much time in town, Ashfield seemed to be a close community with lots of friendly faces, and even in all the snow the surrounding country was lovely. In the morning we had breakfast at Elmer's (their gluten-free pancakes are delicious!). Thank you Nan for a wonderful stay!
The Inn is a lovely little spot right in the heart of Ashfield. We were in town for our wedding and stayed in the Red Room. The bathroom is *huge* and was perfect for getting ready for the event- we even had a hair and makeup crew in there at the same time! Photos taken in the space were divine and speak to how beautifully kept the historic property is. If you stay here, don't miss Elmer's Store for breakfast next door- it's amazing and included in your stay!
Beautiful place! We had a delightful stay... And an amazing breakfast!
The 1795 Inn and Elmer's restaurant across the street are the jewels of Ashfield :) Nan was a wonderful host. Our room (the Blue room) was comfortable and quiet. If you're driving through Western Mass and are looking for a charming BnB with the best pancakes in New England look no further!
I stayed here with two friends while we were visiting the Pioneer Valley and the 5-College area. We stayed in the Blue Room, which was very comfortably appointed with a queen bed and twin bed, and had a large bathroom attached. (We also peeked into the Yellow Room across the hall and it was similarly large and very pretty.) It was a pleasure to correspond with Nan prior to our trip - she was prompt and very friendly. We arrived in Ashfield around 10pm, so our hosts left the lights on for us. The next morning when we headed across the street for the included breakfast at Elmer's (very delicious!) we saw Michael, the innkeeper, very briefly and he was very friendly.
Ashfield is about 40 minutes away from Northampton and is a lovely, quiet town. It's a scenic drive to Shelburne Falls, the 5-College area, and other area attractions. There wasn't any cell phone service, but the Inn provided free wi-fi. We would definitely stay here again! Thanks for a relaxing and comfortable stay.
