I am a single mom living in El Cerrito, and I work as a psychospiritual counsellor.
Such a lovely studio. The pictures of the view don't do it justice. The window in the studio over looks the whole city and stretches out from the golden gate bridge to Alcatraz. The hill where this spot is located is just gorgeous. A 20 minute or less drive over the bridge to San Fran. Katrina is such a generous host, left breakfast foods and notes if we needed anything. Readily available street parking. Lots of hills so be careful checking in at night or in foggy weather. Starbucks and grocery store just a 5 minute drive down the hill. Katrina was available to call or text and gave us plenty of privacy. Great get away from the city. Clean, quiet, and cozy. A+ first airbnb experience.

This was my first Airbnb experience and based on my stay at Katrina's studio and I can only hope my future stays are as great as this one!
The studio was very spacious and private with beautiful views. The kitchenette was well stocked and above and beyond what would be expected. I didn't realize how hilly and curvy the roads are, so I would recommend getting there in daylight when you arrive. I wish my stay was longer and I will try to stay here again if I am back in the Bay Area!

Another amazing stay at Katrina's lovely hideaway. Amazing views, peaceful surroundings, lots of sunshine on the deck, and plenty of privacy.
My stay at Katrina's spacious studio was truly a peaceful retreat (although I was in town for work). The view, the privacy, and the comfort proved to be exactly what I needed to relax when I returned everyday. Katrina was super accommodating and on stand-by for whatever I needed. I count this as one of my VERY BEST host-stay experiences.
Katrina's space beneath her beautiful is a rare find indeed, especially considering the price. Privacy appears to be the order of the day, which makes for a relaxing and unobtrusive stay. The view from the long stretch of double pain windows in the apartment is truly magnificent; over the bay and right on out through the Golden Gate. And if you are a hiker, Wild Cat Canyon regional park is just steps away. I enjoyed a delightful two hour adventure run along this landscape and was continually taken aback by such beauty. Although the kitchenette are is somewhat cold (I did not care) you large studio heats up instantly with a mineral heater. The room is so well insulated that the heat has nowhere to go but the room. A nice touch. For the dough, the view, the park, and to be left alone, one could not stumble upon a more delightful set of digs.
Katrina was a gracious host, who respected our privacy, yet was helpful when we needed her. this was important, becsues we had a serious plumbing problem (blocked drain, overflowing toilet) on the fourth day of our stay. Katrina took care of it immediately, engaging all the services necessary to solve the problem, which turned out to be major.
The studio is large, with a fine view, as shown in the photos. The bed and futon were quite comfortable. Heat is provided by an electric space heater, which worked reasonably well, given the cold weather during our stay, The kitchenette was well stocked with juices, cereals, milk, coffee, teas, and fruit. Guests should know, however, that it has no sink and no heat; you have to get your water from the bathroom. Katrina does have a system where she collects and washes the dishes. Tha bathroom is small, but adequate, and the electric ceiling heater gets it warm within a few minutes.
This is a quirky place, and in the right spirit you can enjoy its attractions. But don't expect luxury.
Great place! Just like the pictures show, it's spacious, comfortable, with amazing views in a lovely part of the East Bay. Katrina respects your privacy/autonomy, but is available for questions/issues.
This was such a great experience. I had never used airbnb, until getting this place for a weekend in Berkeley. Katrina kept a wonderful charming, artistic space. It was a perfect place to lodge for the weekend, with some simple amenities that truly reminded me that I was being cared for by a gracious host. Even though she lived on the premises, it felt private and secure. I look forward to staying here again and have passed the link to many friends already.d
