Over 4 years of hosting on Airbnb, I have never had a guest with such high and unrealistic expectations. Effie lacked common sense and foresight. She burnt through my counter top with a scalding pot, and refused my request to repair the damage. The review that she wrote me was spiteful and vindictive grossly exaggerating the negatives and undervaluing the positive in retaliation for me requesting that she pay for the damages she caused. I always clean tidy up and vacuum before a guest arrives and in her review
she said my place was a mess. She described my linens as being cheap and poor quality when I thought I was being thoughtful by using my nice flannel sheets. Before Effie's review, I have never had one complaint about cleanliness, linens or anything else for that matter. I don't usually pick up my guests at the airport, but that time it worked out. She had agreed not to mention that in her review but nonetheless it was the first thing she posted. She emailed and texted me the night before her departure in a panic claiming that she did not have enough money to get to the airport. Effie is not an independent minded traveler and I found her stay
with me very stressful. After 4 over years of hosting this is the first guest I would not welcome back into my home.
