Lenin was a wonderful host, very friendly, never intrusive, keeps a nice home atmosphere. The room is even better than described. His apartment is huge with all the necessary amenities. It is well decorated and maintained. The room is cozy which for the first time did not mean small. It is actually of regular size, you can fit your clothes and laptop and all other stuff. The location is quite safe, I used to come back from work at 2 am at times and never felt unsafe. There is a 24/7 market 1 min away and a variety of restaurants close by. A subway station is 2 min away and from there you can go everywhere in Manhattan. I will definitely try to stay at Lenin's place when I come back to New York.
Cute guys- open, friendly, funny & helpful. Huge apartment and nice room. 2 close subway stations. Calm neighborhood. Thanks for having us :)
Lenin (and Fernando) very nice people and the apartment was neat and very close to the subway. We got a pretty wonderful christmas going on there!
Kaapo and his friends were great guest, we would love to have again anytime.
Even though we were late Fernando waited for us and answered all of our questions. The apartment is really nice, clean, warm and spacious. The couch is super comfortable. Kitchen is filled with all the utensils so if you would like to cook home you have everything you need. There are lots of supermarkets and place to buy the food just around the corner, food is very tasty and also really cheap. Location is also very nice, it takes just few minutes to walk to the subway and takes around 35 minutes to get to Times Square. We met Lenin just for a short while to leave the keys but he was really nice. I would definately recommend his place!
Lenin is a great host. I stayed there for two months and I felt at home from the first day. The room is spacious and well furnited, exactly as in the pictures. There is a futon bed, a shelf, a small desk, and a dresser. Also, a dressing screen in a corner makes room for keeping your bags and jackets.
I got the keys on the first day, and in general it is incredible as much Lenin trusts you. They were all very friendly and even involved me in their social life, like celebrating Halloween and Thanksgiving! Also, now and then we enjoyed watching movies in the living room, furnished with a projector and dolby audio. Finally, Jack is the cutest and most friendly cat you will ever find!
The area is not touristic, but it is ok for living. It is safe, inhabitated mostly by families. There are supermarkets, pharmacies, delis and other kinds of services at a 5 minutes walk. If you need more, you can easily get to Midtown by taking the A or 1 train, there are two stations at walk distance from the apartment.
I would suggest staying at Lenin's place without any doubt!
The place is PERFECT! It's so much more than you see in the photos, you really have to be there to truly understand how spacious this place is. It's so homey and warm, and yet so cool really makes you feel like you're a true New Yorker livin' in the big city. The apt has real hardwood floor, unbelievably comfortable couch large and well equipped kitchen, NY style bathroom and beyond cool bedroom with a two doors closet, a very comfy Q size bed and a big window (from which you'll see the amazing George Washington Bridge every morning, I know!) I felt so sad that I would have to leave this place at some point :(
About getting around no worries, either the 1 or the A train is close by to take you just about anywhere you'll need, the block itself has alot to offer too, several places to grab a bite to eat, a few bars and a supermarket\grocery store almost every corner. Other than that, the building has a new laundry room and a super to fix anything you might need.
Even though I haven't had a cellphone on the first few days, Lenin was there for me on (website hidden) or Airbnb messages, keys was handed to me by the lovely Yolanda who promised to take care of everything I'll need.
I had a blast during these couple of weeks thanks to Lenin and his great apt... Will definitely come back on my next trip to NYC.
The room is exactly as described, beautiful and spacious. Lenin is a very welcoming host that includes you in his social life immediately upon arrival :) For me it was my first AirBNB experience and I´m very glad how I was received. You are free to use all of Lenin´s things which gave me a great sense that he trusted me.
Thank you guys so much! we felt very welcomed. Extra credits for Fernando, being there letting us in.
My stay was great. The apartment was clean and very welcoming. I am actually a New York resident that needed a local place to stay for the weekend, so I can say that this is a nice apartment by NYC standards. I could live there. The building is 3 blocks off of the 1 train in upper Manhattan in a neighborhood with a great selection of Dominican food. I was able to watch my favorite programs in cable HD and work remotely using the high speed internet. Lenin's place is a great opportunity to experience life like a New Yorker does but still only be a short ride(1,2,3 train line) from all of the tourist attractions that make NYC a great place to visit.
Lenin is sweet, generous and funny. Jack Jack is the sweetest kitty and staying here was a joy. The apartment is huge as is the room. You'll love staying here ( I didn't get to write on the white board in the room, but you will see I'm not the only one who thinks so). Apartment is close to both the A and the 1 trains.
una persona descomplicada. no tuve ningun problema con el. muy recomendable
Lenin wa a wonderful guest; friendly, clean and respectful. I felt very comfortable having him in my home. Both our schedules were quite busy so our paths didn't cross much, but I enjoyed meeting him when we did. I happily recommend him as a guest and would host him again without hesitation.
