It was a beautiful place to stay. The host went above and beyond to help us with several issues we had not related to the Villa. First they personally introduced us to the little grocery store owners just down the mountain, so that we knew where to go for most items we needed. Our airlines (Delta/Air Iltalia) lost our luggage and we were without our meds/luggage for the entire trip. Our host's sun volunteered to go with us to the medical clinic and interpret what we needed to get new meds. This was beyond what was expected or necessary for them to do. I would highly recommend this for it's beauty and peacefulness. Felt very safe the whole time.
Overall good experience. The house is very beautiful. We had a few issues with power and hot water which have been attended to quickly. The view is great but the access to the place is a bit of a drive into the hills (some dirt road is involved). If you choose to expplore the Amalfi coast this might be to far away.
We stayed with our family for a week. What I did not appreciate was that Claudio just rocked up unannounced one day, did not knock on the door but came through the garden and surprised us near the pool. Our privacy was disturbed.
This house is beautiful and as good as the photos posted. The views are terrific and the property is luxurious and comfortable. This is better than a resort and for a family holiday was perfect. The girls loved sunbathing around the pool whilst overlooking the valley...they felt like they were in a Hollywood movie :-).
Down the road are a couple of restaurants, and we ate at La Baita nearly every night, magnificent food, wonderful people and great atmosphere.
The town of Cava de Tirreni is delightful and you can walk there from the house although it is a bit of a steep trek back. There is plenty of easy parking in the town though, and the train to the Amalfi coast (and the bus)is easy to use and fun.
Claudioa and Giovanna were lovely people and great hosts, we were sorry that we couldn't spend more time with them, but there was so much to do and see.
Staying here was an absolute pleasure, and it is good for either a total chill out experience...or for sightseeing.
Terry, Margie and family.
Just one note, if you, like us, are not used to the narrow and winding Italian roads of the village towns it can be a bit confronting at first, but once you are accustomed to them it is worth it to be able to stay in a place like this....loved it.
thanks for the appreciation received
