Response from Lily:
May I suggest the hosts on airbnb to read all the other reviews about my stay? Those reviews are accurate. I see the need to clarify this situation:
(1) It's inaccurate to use the above words "insisted" and "pushed in" as it's a normal situation where Pat gave me the key after my call in advance to inquire about dropping bags shortly before scheduled check-in time - Pat suggested to drop off the bags at the entrance which is very small and located right in front of a flight of steep stairs - it would create safety issue at the entrance if it's blocked by the bags. Pat said the guest has left - I left the bags in the room. (2) It was raining heavily and I changed my wet clothes (I got wet in moving the bags as there no cover from my car to the entrance). (3) Pat asked one day before my departure day the flight time - when I told her it's a late evening flight, she suggested that I could stay later as there is no guest on my departure day. I worked until 3 a.m. that night because of unexpected work in Asia. I thought there would not be guest in the morning (based on what Pat told me) and slept some time. Unbeknown to me, it seemed she changed her mind overnight. It did not seem there's any other airbnb guest that day as it turned out it was a handyman that came in to fix her sofa. (4) When I saw she was not pleased, I offered to pay her the proportionate rent ($20) as a token of appreciation - Pat asked me to put it on the kitchen island. Hope it clarifies. Thank you for reading.
