Busy New Yorker.
Not sure any more positive reviews are needed for this place, but I will just go ahead: great location and a superhost! The room/apartment has all you need and is really in the epicenter of exciting things. I loved that there is character to this place and you also get to see how real new yorkers are living. Subway is very close and you can walk to many locations. There is a food store nearby and countless restaurants too. Mark is very friendly and can help you with tips, so make sure to take advantage of that.
I would certainly recommend the place.
I had an excellent stay in Mark's "Perfect BR in APT on LES of NYC." The room and bed are small but they are all you need. Once I found my bearings in the neighborhood I found it really funky and interesting. If you're more interested in pricey boutiques they're very approachable in SOHO just a ten minute walk away, as well as a great independent bookseller on Prince Street. A Whole Foods is literally just around the corner (two blocks away), and while I prefer a smaller co-op or grocery store for a quick stay in Manhattan it's great to have that so close.
Mark is very friendly but not overbearing and has a good knowledge of the city. The apartment is very clean including the bathroom (again, small, but with everything you need). My only negative comment would be that it's a little out of the way and the subway was a little unpredictable on the weekends (obviously not Mark's fault, but perhaps worth noting), but there are multiple lines within a 5 minute walk so it wasn't too difficult. Overall a GREAT place.
I had an awesome 2-week stay at Mark's apartment in NYC.
Great location, close to subway, great food, artsy neighbourhood nice to walk around(when it's not too cold).
Cozy apartment - clean, quiet, comfortable and feel like home!
Mark is an awesome host, really welcoming, easy to get alone with and willing to give great information and tips about NYC.
Absolutely recommend Mark's apartment for solo travellers who want to experience New York to the fullest!
Great location in a very nice neighborhood. the host was very welcoming, the room was clean and perfect. I truly recommend it!
Mark's a very kind man. His place is in an absolutely wonderful location. It's quite an enjoyable place to stay. I have nothing but good recommendations for his Air BnB offering.
Mark was my first airbnb experience, and I couldn't have asked for a better one. His location is nothing short of absolutely SUPERB: restaurants, nice bars, even a Whole Foods is just a short distance away, not to mention a subway station around the corner.
The room was clean and comfortable with everything a guest could need. As for Mark himself, he is incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating. I unreservedly recommend his place to anyone visiting New York!
Mark is a nice guy with a laid back attitude, the room is simple and clean and relaitvely quiet except for late saturday night when noise from the streets could be heard because of all the people partying in the area. Centrally located it is easy to get around, lots of nice places in the area for eating and live music. All in all I had a pleasant stay at Mark's place, I feel I got a really authentic experience of New York's Lower East Side there.
NY is one of my favorite cities and I try to visit every year in autumn.... this year was not the exception and this time I was looking forward to experience the East side... I am happy I got to book Marks place... it has everything you need to make you enjoy your stay: the room is cozy, clean, warm and well equipped (drawers, hangers, desk...)... I was travelling with 2 bags and a carry on and did a lot of shopping... yet I never had any trouble with the space. The room is n the back of the building so theres no noise at all coming from the streets and you can sleep like a baby.... Location is pretty good... walk distance to SOHO, a block away from the biggest Whole Foods Market and close to metro line 6.
About Mark I can tell he is a very spirited host with an open and friendly attitude, also very helpful if you need any references regarding town.
I would definitely recommend Marks place and would book it myself again if I go back next year...
Mark is a great host, he has good advices, he knows good places and is very helpful. It was really a pleasure to stay at his apartment.
The flat is very well located and it has everything you need.
The room is cosy, clean, quiet (that is a luxury for NYC! ) and comfortable.
I highly recommend!
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Mark's.
The room is just as described and the entire apartment was clean. The neighborhood is quiet, too, which i loved!
There's not a lot of sunlight coming into the room, but this wasn't that big of an issue for me. You're in nyc, so you'll be spending a lot of time out of the apartment anyways!
Mark is totally awesome and totally easy to deal with - he's reliable, trustworthy, and a fantastic host. His apartment is an incredible retreat right on the edges of one of the best neighborhoods of the city; you can get anywhere within twenty minutes, but the room feels like a little piece of sanity, a place to feel like you're truly coming home to. Everything is super tidy but not in like a neat-freak way - just enough to show that Mark really cares about his place, and about your experience.
Mark is a trustworthy, clean, orderly, fair, sane, reasonable, busy New Yorker. The room that he is posting is immaculate and in one of the best locations in New York City (Houston and Eldridge, where the East Village meets the Lower East Side). Despite its hotspot location, the room is incredibly dark and quiet so you can get some rest after a night of debauchery on the Lower East Side. Plus, he has this really rad coffee drip device thingy that will get you up and running in the morning like nobody's business!
