Retro Tokyo was perfect for our party of 3 guests and by Japanese standards - spacious enough that we didn't feel like we were in each other's space. A great location away from the hustle and bustle which was a nice escape. Retro Tokyo's hosts were welcoming and nothing was too much (so much so that Marek personally delivered the pocket wifi at late notice) which came in very handy when exploring the city. Thank you for hosting us, we will definitely be returning to Japan. The description provided to locate the apartment was PERFECT and greatly appreciated!
Absolutely loved our stay at Retro Tokyo! The apartment was fantastic, so close to Asakusa Station, so close to Senso-Ji Temple. Easy to get around Tokyo from the apartment. Retro Tokyo had everything we needed, and made our stay in Tokyo even more amazing! We would definitely stay at Retro Tokyo again!
Very good location and fully equipped. Home away from home.
It was our second time in the Retro Apartment, and it was great! As soon as we entered the apartment it felt like coming "home". We recommend this apartment to everyone who's going to travel to tokyo!
Excellent communication from start to finish. The location is great being close to Asakusa, it's very easy to get around. I would stay here again without hesitation. Thanks Ben and Marek for such a nice experience
We enjoyed our stay at Retro Tokyo. The apartment was clean and comfortable and in a good location. It was nice to stay in a more residential neighborhood, with the busy-ness of Asakusa just across the bridge. Great having a bakery and 24/7 convenience store right across the street! The konbini also handles luggage delivery service if you want to send suitcases ahead to your next destination. Washing machine in the apartment was handy, but a bit tricky. And because you are in an apartment, not a hotel, you must remember to sort out your trash and leave it outside on the right day.
Overall, this is an excellent, reasonably-priced place to stay, with more space than an average Tokyo hotel room. Ben was very responsive to emails, and patient with all my questions.
Best place we stayed at in Tokyo (we stayed in 2 others). Apartment is big by Tokyo standards, really well appointed and owners have good taste too. Location sees good natural light, an interesting outlook and is just across the river from one of the top 3 "must do's" on any Tokyo visit (Asakusa). Owners have provided detailed descriptions of all the things necessary to run the apartment and to enjoy the city.
Ben's apartment was exactly as described. We had everything we needed and he was gracious in allowing us to leave our bags until mid afternoon as our flight was at 6:30.
We absolutely loved the location. Walking long the river was delightful and seeing the Golden sculpture every day was glorious. Great restaurants around the corner and free mobile wifi from the visitors information center at the corner. Metro 5 minutes walk. I would stay there again.
Ben replied to emails immediately & was always most helpful with information regarding the apartment & Tokyo/Japan travel.
We arrived early & were able to drop off our luggage before check in.
Great apartment, as described & shown in the photos, very clean, with everything we needed. Loved a hot bath after a days walking the subways & sights & a comfy bed ! Loved the wardrobe space for luggage & hanging clothes. Loved the street outlook, trees & architecture. Fantastic location near the Sumida River for morning walks, near the Asukasa subway station & so many major sites to visit nearby. Handy convenience store & bakery opposite. Favourite Restaurant 4628 about 3 blocks down the street.
Very nice people, they know Bali very well and found their way themselves. It was great to have them as guests and accommodate them for 8 nights! Recommended.
We loved having Ben and his family stay with us at villa Tully.
Ben booked the villa for his mother and her friends. All went smoothly, no pb at all.
I would be very happy to host them again.
We only got to know Ben & his family on their arrival day but we can say that they are very friendly & open-minded. Especially his 2 kids & the cat are lovely!!
I've known Ben for almost 15 years and can happily recommend his places to anyone. Ben is a world traveller in style and his beautiful house in Bali reflects his personality. I would not hesitate for a second to recommend his house to anyone traveling to Bali with friends and families alike.
