We loved our stay at Casa Laurita! The booking process was easy and the house is beautiful, easy walking distance to the center of town. We were there for a weekend and had absolutely everything we needed. Thanks so much.
I can't say enough good things about Laura or her beautiful casita! Laura was most accomadating during a raher complicated booking process, but was able to make it work for me.
The home is amazing, tastefully decorated, spacious yet cozy. I was in love as soon as I stepped through the door (the curb appeal was just a preview).
Having been living in a hotel for the summer, I was so happy to have access to a well appointed kitchen, I was in heaven procuring goods from the local market and finally being able to cook a full meal.
When I return to San Miguel, there is not other place I would ever consider!
The home was a beautiful, well-appointed multi-level residence ideal for a family of four. The home's central location was perfect for exploring the city and was very near restaurants, galleries, sight-seeing highlights, and shopping.
The property is spotless. Twice-a-week cleaning and a generous supply of filtered water are provided.
One morning we were awakened early by the sound of heavy construction next door, an unnerving and unrelenting disturbance. Our host responded almost instantly to our e-mail message, alerting her local agent so that the problem was solved by the next day. We were offered a generous partial reimbursement as compensation for our one bad night. The speed and graciousness of our host's response to our concerns was appreciated and most reassuring.
The neighborhood is lively and very near the center so it's not surprising that noise -- other than construction noise -- was an occasional problem: rooster crows, cicadas, barking dogs, sometimes traffic. But this is a more or less expected feature of life for visitors to a colorful town in the heart of Mexico.
Overall the property is both aesthetically pleasing and highly functional with the two en suite bedrooms (each on its own level), a delightful inner courtyard, roof terrace, Wifi and a full kitchen. Its up-and-down construction offers a multitude of different sorts of spaces affording both privacy and opportunities for together time.
Me, my husband and in-laws had a wonderful experience at Casa Laurita. The apartment is both beautiful and comfortable -and the roof deck boasts a very pleasant/scenic view. The Artisans Market is a very short walk away and the square not much further -a great location. In addition, when I emailed with a few questions, Laura responded very quickly with answers. Overall, I couldn't imagine a more positive experience.
One helpful note to future summer travelers: bring or buy some bug spray when in San Miguel during the rainy season. (We got a bit eaten-up about the ankles.)
Thank you, Aubrey! I just want to point out that the bedrooms, kitchen, and studio have screens on them, which is unusual in San Miguel, to keep the bugs out. Also, it is a whole house, not an apartment!
As described by the owner, Casita Laurita is a jewell in Centric San Miguel de Allende. Cosy, well located, clean, nice, comfortable and with a lovely design and great attention to details Casita Laurita is an excellent choice when visiting San Miguel de Allende.
This modern home is located on a quaint block just blocks away from the center of San Miguel. Well-appointed, comfortable and close to everything. The perfect home away from home.
My husband, daughter and son-in-law, and eight-month-old granddaughter just returned from a three-night stay at Laurita's Casita in San Miguel. From the moment we entered her beautifully designed and appointed home, we were entranced. Not only were we completely comfortable there, we also felt welcomed--we were greeted by a magnificent bouquet of flowers and a plate of galletas (Mexican cookies). We heartily recommend this home away from home.
You'll love staying at Laura's Casa Laurita in San Miguel de Allende. Her charming, adorable house makes great use of space and is convenient to the Artesan's Market, Mercado and Central Plaza. Laura is a great host and her attention to detail I'm sure will have you planning a return trip.
I've had the pleasure of visiting at Casa Laurita several times; it's a jewel, a place where it's fun and interesting to spend time. Every corner appears to have received special attention. Casa Laurita is located in a safe and lively Mexican family neighborhood, near everything you will need.
Whenever a travel writer makes a decision to buy a crumbled piece of historic architecture in the heart of a great city and completely modernize it into the place she's actually willing to stay for a while you know it's somewhere you've just gotta go! I've known Laura since childhood she is spontaneous, hilarious and always a gracious host. Go ahead, submerge yourself in the positive energy of this sparkling, creative spot for your next visit to San Miguel I know you won't be sorry!
