We – that's me, Penny, my husband Kevin and our cat Millie – have lived in Stoke Newington for a long time and love it for its mix of people, ages, cultures, restaurants and all the rest! Interested in music, theatre, dance, most of the arts, food, conversation, crafts, some sport (my husband is better at sport than I am!), travel and probably spend too much time with my nose stuck in a book. We occasionally get itchy feet and have managed to travel to Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, India and quite a bit of Europe. However, the list of places we'd like to visit is considerably longer!
We have both worked in the voluntary sector for about the last 15 years. I'm a freelance writer/editor, knitting junkie, foodie, bread-baker and animal lover, my husband Kevin is ceo of an educational charity, sports fan, animal lover. I play badminton and tennis when I can to keep fit. I also volunteer for a tiny animal welfare charity in Goa, and fundraise for them in the UK.
I speak some French and Spanish, both badly, but I do try!
We're both pretty laid back, and are happy to welcome you into our home.
I work from home so am here most of the time. Happy to help out with any questions you have. Please just ask.
