I took my first international plane ride at 11 months of age and haven't slowed down yet! I've lived in 5 countries, I haven't been to nearly as many as I'd like, and I love to meet new people. I'm extremely adaptable and always willing to learn, change, and grow.
I'm passionate about the earth and being a good citizen of the planet. I run my car on biodiesel (hoping to get enough used cooking oil soon to make my own!), grow food in my front yard, compost my food scraps, and don't eat meat (or eggs/dairy that supports factory farming practices). This means I'm basically vegan (always when eating out) with the exception that I do eat the eggs from my boyfriend's pet chickens, who have a great life and don't mind a bit, and I do eat honey. So while I'm consciencous about food and where it comes from (I buy my produce locally whenever possible), I don't preach to others about their choices and I'm not easily offended.
I'm geeky: I love reading science fiction, I've played a fair share of computer games, I can my own jams and tomatoes. I'm social: I organize a quickly-growing group of over 220 ladies in Phoenix, I'm usually aware of some kind of fun event any night of the week and try to make it to as many as I can, I go swing dancing once or twice a week, and I love dressing up in costumes. I'm an entrepreneur: I left my "rat race" desk job to do odd jobs like deliver mail, run errands, clean houses, and even painted some giant lollipops and gingerbread men for Katie Perry!
I'm an "old soul," whose never met a person with whom she couldn't find something in common, and I'm a persistent optimist and believe in the basic goodness of people. It won't be easy, but we can make the world what we want it to be- not by forcing others to behave well, but by constantly improving ourselves and inspiring others.
I prefer traveling light, and kind of enjoy the thrill of "flying by the seat of my pants." I have always preferred couchsurfing and staying with locals to boring hotels and tourist traps. As a guest, I'm very quiet and will adapt to your preferences, environment, and house rules. As a host, I will try to gauge whether you're seeking a hotel-like friendly, yet distant host, I'll be happy to do that. If you're looking for some fun to have while you're in the area, I'd love to be your guide or concierge and show you a great time!
