Unfortunately every business around the world will eventually experience customers such as this. Whether it is a waitress/waiter trying their hardest, only to receive a $2 tip or a customer service rep. getting reamed out for a product that did not meet the expectations of the buyer. Our facility is rated among the best on Airbnb and our reviews serve notice of that. We take great pride in providing a unique & quality experience at an affordable price range. The description of our rental policy, including live-in hosts, is accurate to anyone who fully reads it and we send multiple follow up emails to ensure a great guest experience before they arrive. We do our best to ask enough questions to make sure our establishment is the kind of place for each individual group. If expectations were communicated from the beginning, we would not have accepted the reservation. The level of service that our guests rave about comes from our humble presence and the attention to detail in the decorations of every room and the care of our land. As live-in hosts, you will see us working, playing and maintaining the property. Basic functions such as security, heating/cooling and proper functioning of equipment are not the responsibility of our guests. Our family requires the same basic needs as our guests and we make sure they are met. We respect the privacy of all our guests, having common areas for them to share time together, while having private areas for ourselves, where guests are not permitted. However, it is a shared space under one 5800 sq. ft. roof and if these guests feel we were intruding on their privacy, they couldn't be more wrong... especially since most of the conversations that echoed through the house were not in English! We would suggest to any future Hosts on Airbnb to think long and hard about accepting reservations from these guests. We also suggest an adequate security deposit and very good cleaning person!

We understand the disappointment about the pool and apologize for not being able to provide it's use during your stay! Living in upstate NY, we are pawns to the sometimes erratic weather patterns and this spring was especially inconsistent. Although we did everything possible to have the pool ready, we were still unable to rectify the issues to make it safe. Luckily, there are some beautiful lakes near by with lots of amenities ~ one of which we're really glad that your group decided to enjoy! We appreciate your feedback on the kitchen(s) as well. As a "Bed & Breakfast", the main kitchen has never been available for guest use. The Guest Kitchen is provided as a bonus amenity mainly intended for light cooking or snacks. The listing now reflects the difference between the two kitchens ~ thank you! We sincerely apologize for any misunderstandings and have taken steps to provide clear communication for the future!
