This was a great place to stay! Sean and Scorch were the nicest hosts! I agree with the previous comments about how well-mannered Scorch is - she is both calm and very sweet. Sean was engaging and friendly, with great knowledge of the city and surrounding areas. The house is just as awesome as the photos show, and the bed was deliciously comfortable! Sean even has extra toiletries if you forgot anything - which was a really nice touch. Highly recommended!
WOW ! Great communication ! This was my first time using AirBNB, overall score
was 9 out of 10. Sean was an amazing host & Scorch was an amazing hostess.
She was Sean's right hand Doberman . What a well mannered dog. No licking
no jumping , you would never know she was around , friendly but not over friendly. Sean was just the right amount of interaction, a great source of local information, privacy when I wanted it. I stayed in the guest bedroom, immaculate quite nice , bed was very comfortable, and the WIFI worked well. The shared bath was amazing, beautiful. I was amazed at the attention to detail and work that Sean has done with that Beautiful old house, I believe he said was late 1800's, A True Craftsman and Artist ! or turn it around . Artist and Craftsman ,Would love to come back and see the finished house someday, I understand WIP , Work In Progress. I could go on & on , but give this Old World Character of St Paul, Minnesota a try you won't be disappointed. Also try MaMa's Pizza a real treat
that was close.
Very helpful and flexible! When I got sick and missed the days I had scheduled (and already paid for); Sean kindly allowed me to make them up when I was able and the room was open. Thanks.
Scorch and Sean are great hosts. We love the property and can't wait till spring and when the twisted sisters are in bloom. Sean was good with our little change in our check in time. We loved hearing about the history and how Sean became the caretaker of The Manor. Being a St Paul kid we could talk for hours on my home town. Yeah I think this summer out by the fire would be great. The room was a great space. Growing up in an old house I felt so at home with some of the creeks and moans.
I've stayed there a number of times now...it's like my 2nd home in St. Paul. Good strong WiFi, by the way. I also recommend walking to MaMa's Pizza for dinner!
Sean and Scorch instantly made us feel welcome. The compound has its own time/space continuoum. It is as if it only exists for you. We stayed in the master suite. The bed was very cozy. The bathroom was incredable! (We used the showers...there are 2!) Sean even personalized our stay with wine and balloons for our belated Valentine's Day!
We were out late (nearly 3am) but had no trouble getting back in since we took the time to visit with them before we left. Scorch didnt even bark when we came in. The next morning, late, after a lovely sleep, she did come up to say hello, when she knew we were up. She is just too sweet!
We will absolutely stay again. If you are looking for a unique, welcoming, beautiful EXPERIENCE I recommend you do the same.
Stayed there several times now, will probably use it some more when I stay in St. Paul. Good place.
Very cool place to stay! It's certainly in process of restoration, but the guest area - upstatirs bedrooms and bathroom - are beautiful. Grounds very neat, too. Convenient to St. Paul; I parked car all week - rode bus downtown to work and walked to restaurants. Great hospitality.
I haved stay here previously and it is still a great place to be. I love Scorch and Sean; they are the perfect hosts. The Guest Bedroom has a wonderful bed and lots of room; very comfortable for my week stay. I will stay here again when in St. Paul.
Sean was the perfect host. Wonderful, clean room in his home. We would stay again when in St. Paul.
Sean's the coolest. I met him through mutual friends ages ago and he's a great friend - really kind, considerate, and wildly creative (if you didn't already pick that up from the photos of his amazing home). I'm looking forward to visiting Minnesota JUST so I can stay at the Manor and hang out with Sean. :)
