I'm 44, unmarried, and make my living as a freelance writer. I live in Boise, Idaho, and keep an office space downtown, but my clients are located throughout the country. I consider San Francisco a second home, though chronologically it's closer to first. I was born in Mt. View and moved to Idaho when HP relocated my father's HP division in 1977, and I have moved back to the Bay Area to live in the city twice as an adult -- once for a few months, and again for 7 years. I don't travel much, and have always preferred staying with friends to hotels when I do, but the truth of it is that most friends my age have shifted their focus (and spare rooms) to raising families, so I'm looking to change some of the ways that I visit other cities. I'm a good guest, but one that's not likely to hang around a whole lot. If I came to visit your city then that's what I'm out doing, and probably would not return much except to sleep.
