Rahela and her family were amazing hosts! Their home is a quiet, lovely retreat from the bustle of central Split, but only a 10-15 minute walk away. The rooms have a view of the back harbor, which is only a few steps to a marina and a couple of bars where locals swim and hang out. The added bonus is the very close proximity to Marjan, where you can hike, bike, or swim. I had a wonderful couple of days here to start my journey in Croatia.
Rahela and her family made me feel quite literally at home. I spent three days in the family home and though my stay was short I feel that my life has been enriched by my stay. Gotta give 10 out of 10 for this place. Thank you to Rahela, Borna, Baco, Velimir, Marko and Rebecca. Truly wonderful people and a Truly wonderful place!!
Rahela and her family made rather every effort to meet our needs during our two-day visit in Split. Although we didn't meet Rahela until the morning of our departure, her mother was helpful enough, allowing us to use the kitchen for breakfast and lending us their notebook since the WiFi wouldn't connect on our ipad.
The room was simple but well suitable for a good night rest.
The apartment was not the one we had booked. It wasn't even anywhere near the same standard as the one in the listing. "Beautifully designed luxury flat" - the only part of that description that was correct was that it was a flat. It also wasn't near the location specified, The only thing the flat did have that was correct was two bedrooms.
The guy we were meeting was late, and just moaned he was very busy and he didn't like Split. When we queried about the property after seeing it, he didn't seem that interested, say that this was all there was.
We were lead to believe the checkout time was flexible. However, on the last day we got a knock on the door at 11am saying we had to leave. We only had 30 mins to get ready and pack.
Looking at the other reviews, this seems to be common practice, where you book one place, and get given a completely different, substandard one.

Split is a beautiful old city. The coast is lovely. Swimming fantastic. The apartment is in a good location in the old town. Very narrow warren of streets - easy to get lost and very hard to find the apartment at first. Great bakery and supermarket only a few minutes walk. Only 5 minutes walk to the port and the palace once you know your way around. About 20 minutes to a lovely place to swim. I was there at the end of September. It was very hot and the real spoiler for me was the mosquitos. I used a plug in repellant and it didn't work. I still had over 100 bites. Of course this isn't the fault of the apartment! However, although Rahela has made lots of lovely touches, and I liked the furniture, I do think the photo makes it seem bigger and lighter. It is dark downstairs, and the bathroom is very small indeed and rather dismal. The bedroom is bigger and lighter and nice. I found the bed very comfortable. I was staying there alone and I didn't feel entirely safe. The metal gate to the entrance is useless - I could have climbed over the side at the end myself. I couldn't get the window to the kitchen to close quite entirely. I didn't like to leave the bedroom windows open at night because the upstairs is actually only a few feet from the ground at the back (build into a hill), and anyone could climb in. Therefore very hot and very bitten at night. I didn't meet Rehala but her friend was there to meet me at the apartment when I arrived. I largely ate in - the kitchen is very well equipped. I tried local resteraunts but the food was over priced and I can get the same dishes, but much much better cooked for half the price here in Hackney!
I did not stay at the Cozy retreat. There was a problem with the suite the day of my arrival. Rahela was busy dealing with the situation and couldn't meet up for a couple hours after our initial meeting time.
The new place she took us to was this https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/28506
As you can see, still a very nice pad. It was bigger than I needed but not such a bad problem. There was a lot of natural light in the main kitchen area and it was a tremendous location. The chandeliers were cool too.
I was planning to book longer, but couldn't reach Rahela until the day of my checkout.
Rahela is very pleasant to talk to and is very knowledgeable about the area, restaurants, things to see.
Thanks for accommodating me for the short time I was there :)
The stay was ok.
The bathtub was way to small, so was the bathroom (You could not be two in it at the same time). The place is cute but way smaller than it looked in the pictures.
The real downside was the bed: really really hard, impossible to sleep in (and we are young and not really caring about comfort, but this time it was incredibly hard).
The plus were the location, everything is close, and the wifi and the calm of the neighbourhood. Rahela was adorable and helpful, showing us great places and restaurants.
We would certainly not come back, as we were looking for something comfortable and we agreed to pay a little more than our budget allowed for this and it was not worth it.
Everything was perfect. Highly reccommended.
