I had a great stay at this apartment. It was perfect for my needs. It is steps away from the subway and half a block from the amazing Prospect Park. There are some great shops and very good food close by. Highly recommended.
What a great apartment!! Our daughter had a baby and we spent two weeks in Brooklyn at Jamie's apartment - chic decor and very comfortable. The bed is firmer than we were used to, but it worked fine and we slept well. The 15th St F subway is only a few steps away- very convenient. Prospect Park is one block away & many good eats are within a couple blocks. We stayed when most people get out of the city (mid summer), but with lots of fans, we didn't even turn on the AC. Jamie was a great host and stayed in touch with us at all times.
Jamie has a great and very spacious apartment. Lots of interesting antique furniture and thousands of books if you want to stay indoors...and a subway stop, corner groceries, savory pie shop, pizza place, coffee shops, bars, a massive park and a really cool movie theater and more right at the end of the block for when you want to explore and go outdoors. The neighborhood is safe and quiet and the building was very peaceful. You can turn out the lights and people watch in the windows of the buildings across the backyard garden. It was the perfect NYC/Brooklyn experience that you could never get in a hotel.
Jamie's place was just what we were looking for: quiet, well-decorated, clean, and close to everything you need, including the subway to the city. As someone else noted, the bed is definitely unique in its firmness and construction, but it might have been my most favorite element of the apartment (best sleep I've had in a while! though I do also like firm beds :)
The morning light through the windows is really quite dreamy and the bedroom and sitting room are also warmed by wall to wall books (of a compelling variety!) The ceiling lights of the apartment have a character all their own too you'll find.
In all, we really found Jamie's place to be both restorative and inspiring. We definitely recommend it!
This is a fabulous apartment in an equally wonderful neighborhood. It is the New York dream to have a spacious, quiet, well-lit apartment paired with the convenience of subway access (the F line is my personal favorite), Prospect park, and local culture. While in the apartment, I greatly appreciated Jamie's antique industrial accents and found it the perfect place to unwind from the city outside.
The apartment was perfect and the location excellent!. You have the metro stop in the same street. They have a very nice apartment in a very quite area. You are next to Prospect Park. And again.. everything was perfect!.
Jamie has an amazing apartment! The location is perfect, only around 30 seconds walk from the nearest subway station. The neighborhood is lovely and safe.
We had a super time, and would highly recommend it.
What a wonderful place to stay; a great apartment in what was for us the perfect location- Prospect Park, the subway, coffee, pizza, corner stores, ices, diner, bagel place, mince pies and more within a one block radius. Within a ten to fifteen minute walk you have your pick of just about any kind of food, wine, beer, and shopping. If I was moving back to NY I would want to live right here. The neighbors are really nice too.
The bed will be ridiculously hard for most people (think of a thin comforter on top of a table) but they know this and have a queen size air mattress as a back up plan.
The reason I took one star away is the hot water situation. Jamie left us a note saying that from 8:45am-4pm there is no hot water, but having been caught in an ice cold shower at 8:35 and then not being able to take one at 5pm I'd say the times are not quite so set in stone.
All in all, fantastic. I'm just disappointed that we never got to meet Jamie and his girlfriend.
We had the opportunity to have Jamison's wife as a guest. Her name is Selena and we had a wonderful time with her. She made us feel as we had a close friend staying with us. Besides her talent as an artist she is kind, friendly, quiet, clean and caring. She made us very happy expressing herself as feeling at home. We hope to get to know Jamison next time they visit. Once Selena is such a nice person we bet they make a great couple. Highly recommended! :)))
It was lovely to have Jamison and Selena stay on Magus. They arrived when they said they would, were friendly and easy-going, and didn't leave a mess. If that's not the perfect guest, then I don't know what is! Hope you guys had a great stay. All the best!
