I work from home as a writer.
I had a great time at Margaret's.Tha room was cosy and i realy felt at home.I enjoy very much talking with Margaret. She was very helpfull giving us maps and information.I couldnt have asked for better location view or hosts!
Location: The place is ideally located near the ferry terminal and has local grocery store, restaurant and all important coffee shops nearby. Additionally, it's conveniently located for NRGH.
Accommodation: The house is fantastic, clean, comfortable. The room itself is large with a desk.
Host: Margaret was exceptionally helpful, warm and welcoming. If ever I returned to Nanaimo I'd stay in the same place without question. Her local knowledge proved invaluable time and time again.
Price: Entirely reasonable.
Margaret's home is very comfortable, and set up with anything you could need. Margaret herself is very accommodating and helpful. I would stay here again if in the area.
I slept very well in Margaret's home. It was convenient to all the places visited and coming and going was easy. I found it priced very affordable. We had great conversations and she was eager to help me make sense of the area and my options for departure. In fact, the information she offered me saved me hours of travel time and hundreds of dollars. I am grateful and already anticipating staying again for future travels to Nanaimo.
We couldn't have asked for a better location, view or hosts! Margaret is easy going, helpful and made us feel at home. Our daughter was competing at Brentwood Regatta and we were just minutes away on foot making it convenient to walk to the school and local stores. The view of the bay is lovely and at low tide you can reach the shore by walking down to the end of the yard. This is a good base to explore local wineries (and one cidery) which are close by in Cowichan Valley. We plan to return to Mill Bay next year. Thank you for a lovely stay!!
Our stay with Margaret was very comfortable. We arrived wet from head to toe after riding our bikes in the rain to get there. She welcomed us with hot tea and put us in front of the fire to warm up. We enjoyed visiting with Margaret and her daughter, Emma and were treated to a satisfying breakfast before we left in the morning.
Our Stay at Margaret's place was very pleasant and relaxing. The view is beautiful and Margaret, her daughter and cat are really nice!
We had a great time at Margaret's. The rooms are cosy, the view from the house is really nice and the house is well located to explore Victoria and the cowichan valley. We really felt at home and we enjoyed talking with Margaret - who speaks french which was a plus for my parents!
We spent 2 nights with Margaret. She has a lovely home on the bay. We enjoyed our spacious accommodations and were pleasantly surprised by the nice breakfast she provided each morning. Highly recommended.
Margaret's home, the room we stayed in, and her hospitality were all wonderful. We stayed in the smaller bedroom, which was a tiny bit cramped but the firm, comfortable bed and the bathroom right next door made up for the lack of extended floor space. We enjoyed breakfast on the deck facing the water each morning, and relaxing in the yard after each day of touristing. We were also greatful that we could walk to a grocery store, coffee shop, and restaurant just down the street.
Margaret was a gracious hostess, made us feel welcome, and was full of tips, maps, and books to help us plan our day trips. Without her advice, we might have missed some great stops.
We stayed here mostly as a base location for our extended weekend motorcycle trip on the island; it was a perfect choice for us.
