Staying here with Miss Karylee was AWESOME!
-Trader Joe's & Starbucks are right down the street and the bus that goes into Downtown stops just foot steps from the studio.
-Super accommodating host! She was helping us figure out what parts of Oregon to explore during our trip. There was also maps on the desk in the studio to guide us around town.
-Loved having wifi & cable available and having a kitchenette was very convenient.
Would come back in a heart beat!
Great place to stay in portland. Very accomodating and helpful host. Nice character and vibe to the place. Enjoy!
We enjoyed our stay in Karylee's apartment during our visit to Portland! The apartment was well-equipped, with a comfortable bed and good shower, and the location was very convenient for the 75 and 17 bus routes to get around town.
Karylee's very nice and accomodating. She makes herself available but also gives you privacy. She even let us pick some raspberries and peas from her garden! The apartment is well located and the kitchen is well equipped. There are lots of maps and bus schedules, and she even left some snacks/candies for us. The apartment itself is in the basement and it definitely has a basement feel, with limited natural lighting. Nonetheless, we had a great time and found it very convenient!
Karylee was a great host: friendly, thoughtful and extremely responsive to e-mail inquiries. The studio is compact, but cozy and comfortable, with great wifi and cable TV, and also offers a well-stocked cooking area (including some spices and condiments, which you often don't get with airbnb rentals). There's also a lovely garden in the backyard, and she invites guests to hang out there, and to help themselves to the vegetables that are growing there. Great location on two bus lines, and just a few blocks from Starbucks and Trader Joe's, and within walking distance of several strips of shops, restaurants, and bars.
Karylee was a wonderful host during our stay in Portland. She had everything we needed and was happy to answer all our questions about the area. She also has a beautiful garden with whimsical holiday lights to welcome you home.
Kary was a wonderful, kind host! The basement apartment (with its own private entrance--a great bonus) was stocked with amenities, from bus maps to kitchen supplies to bathroom things like shampoo, towels, etc. It was cozy, quiet, and roomy enough to spread out your toiletries, clothes, books, laptop, etc. The desk was nice for me to write on, and the couch good for reading or watching TV.Although it's a basement apartment, there are plenty of lights, so it doesn't get too dark. I didn't use the kitchen for cooking, but it would be a great money-saver if you wanted to use it that way, especially with Trader Joe's being right down the street. Kary goes out of her way to make sure you have a comfortable stay and that you have what you need. I'd definitely stay here again.
Karylee is a generous host, and her apartment is very thoughtfully arranged. The kitchen had all that we needed and more than we expected (e.g., oatmeal, olive oil, honey). A small desk with desk supplies was a great touch. The apartment is small, on the dark side, and cool (it is a basement....), but she has very effective little heaters if needed, plenty of blankets and throws, and a great sense of style, all of which makes for a cozy space. Easy bus access to downtown and Hawthorne District. We'd definitely stay again.
this apartment was terrific. i stayed for several weeks, and would have been happy to move in. i mostly kept to myself (because i knew people in portland) but karylee was friendly and helpful as well. this is a great place.
I was visiting Portland for a conference and it was great to be able to retreat to the apartment after a long day. Having a kitchen (and nearby Trader Joe's) also helped to keep costs down. The apartment has everything that you might need and is very comfortable. It's also right along several bus lines, which makes getting around easy. Karylee was welcoming and accommodating and went out of her way to make sure that I had everything I needed. Highly recommended!
I have known KaryLee for quite some time and her place is always so comfy, although I already live in this area, I would definitely stay there If I were looking for a place in Portland. It is close to everything, the stores, within walking distance. On the bus route to max, very convenient location especially if you are new to Porltand. She is thoughtful and has even provided bus information for you. The room is clean and well equipped, she has a very beautiful back yard to hang out in. She is very familiar with popular places to go in Portland for everything from restaurants, to comedy to music. She has a background in the Arts and is very creative, you might even want to check out her great photography as well..
I've known KaryLee since about 2005 or so. She is warm, friendly, sociable and upbeat.
She has a heart of gold and cares deeply about people and animals. She is very generous. She's also a first rate professional photographer and is well-respected in the Portland music scene, Where she can always be found with her camera in the crowd.
Her house and garden are beautiful. I recommend staying with her. We are neighbors and I've been to her house several times.
Karylee is a wonderful and caring person! She volunteers for my non-profit PAW Team, taking wonderful photos of the pets of people in extreme poverty receiving veterinary care at our clinics. I've known Karylee since she started volunteering with us a few years ago, and she is such an amazing person who loves life, and giving back to her community. Although I have not had the pleasure of staying at her house, I have heard from many people about how warm and lovely and pleasant it is, and seen the beautiful photos of her garden and the new basement apartment. Stay there, you won't regret it!
I have known Karylee for about 2 years. She has always been very gracious, warm and easy to get along with. Her backyard garden is a beautiful place to sit and socialize. Karylee also host blues jams and BBQs in the summer that are absolutely wonderful. Her home is conventiently located in SE Portland.
Kary lee is a groovy person..She is one of the centered, happy people who make Portland special. Self-Employed as a Notary Public, Photographer and Artist; Kary is a great Host, with a wide circle of friends. She makes friends easily, and has won the trust of many in the Portland area..
I am also a very active AirBnB Host, and when I travel Karylee covers for me if my Guests have a need or concern. Gardening Guests will enjoy her interesting art-filled home and organic Garden, and all will find her a good communicator. Her house is on great bus lines, moving often and daily. One can easily Bike down-town from there, and even return late after socializing, by using the Bus - since all have Racks. Trader Joes and other shopping are around the Corner. Just a short hop over to Woodstock, Sellwood, Hawthorne,Clinton St, Powell, Hollywood, and other great East-side shopping and entertainment Districts from her house. Enjoy!
