vonnegut, kant, hofstatder, maxwell, einstein, oliver sachs, ray bradbury, carl sgan, silverstein, edward gory, tim burton, dr. suess, william carlos williams, silvia plath, emily dickinson, hemingway, and on and on

i like to travel per se. i like to live in a place for a prolong period, eat local food, meet the neighbors, celebrate festivals of the area and really try and understand the world from a different perspective. i wish i could pick up language easily. it is integral into understanding so that is lost in translation. i speak english and chinese and already that is enough to show me how much linguistics do not universally apply across the globe.

as a guest i like privacy. always have been a private person. doesn't mean to do not like socializing. it's just that once i'm off of work and not at a social function i need time to reflect. in terms of food i like to try everything at least once. certain things that fall in the pet category is a concept i can not get over. but i've tried, brain, snake, zebra, chicken feet, pig snout and tail, snails, tripe, tongue and much more you may not want to hear about.

we are given one life to live and it just as important to live in the present as it is to have wonderful memories of the past and stimulating goals to challenge you in the future. i hope i never lose my curiosity for all the beauty in this world despite the ugliness that comes with it.
