Hello, we are a recently retired couple living our dream to (finally) see the world. I'm Australian and have lived in the US for 32 years, having moved there as a pediatric RN to work in children's hospitals. My wife, Tracy, is American and she's also retired from a career in marketing, design, brand development, and ethnographic research.
We own a home in California outside of San Francisco. Our interests involve sports spectating (Tracy here: Peter would happily watch a marbles tournament), art, anything to do with horses or dogs, food, photography, plein air oil painting, writing, reading, music (from rock to Bach), history, ballroom dancing, nature and wildlife...well, I could go on. The bottom line is that we are excited about life and curious about anything new.
We enjoy traveling with Airbnb because it allows us to go at a relaxed pace, get to know our hosts, and to stay where local people live and work so that we get a deeper understanding of the places we visit. It's also gratifying to know that we are putting our travel dollars back into the local economy and in the hands of the individual who is working hard to make our stay pleasant.
Neither of us are smokers. I'd guess we are a bit older than the average user of the AirBnB network and late nights are a rare occasion for us. We do enjoy a glass of wine or beer on occasion but our days of getting crazy are long past.
As guests, we believe that it's our responsibility to treat you with the kindness, good cheer, and respect our hosts have always shown to us. We will keep our space tidy, we will follow house rules and respect your property, and we will coordinate within the schedule of the household to the best of our ability.
We are currently on a year-long trip around the globe in celebration of our recent retirement. Motto: Why stay home when you can roam?
