We spent 9 days here and the word I use is impressed. First, the quality of the bed, (murphy, memory foam) excellent. Second, management....responsive and caring. Third, LOCATION, LOCATION... in the middle of everything... with a parking spot, the best of all worlds.
Also...great gym, nice pool, and a warmly decorated balcony.
We'd stay here again anytime!
Great place! It was luxury close to the convention center (took me 8 mins leisure walk) and just 1 block from what I could tell was the center of the gaslamp activity. Noise levels were good on the weekdays, but as expected, rowdy on the weekends. The studio was stocked with everything you may need, from an iron, blow dryer, pots, pans, utensils (even cooking condiments). There is a huge CVS right underneath the building. Overall, this was my first Airbnb experience and Peggy's place made a believer out of me (in Airbnb). Oh, and the bed was very comfy.
We just stayed at Peggy's condo last week for a week long conference I (email hidden) Convention Center. Peggy was responsive to the few questions I had (re: parking and hairdryer), and her local contact Teresa was friendly and helpful.
The condo is a lovely studio with just about everything one would need for a fraction of the cost of the local big name hotels. There's a large bathroom, full kitchen, washer/dryer, comfortable murphy bed, and TV with basic cable and wi-fi. As shown in the pics the view is of the skyline - you can even see planes landing while laying in bed (a peek-a-boo view of their descent through the high-rise buildings). The porch was a nice perk - great for relaxing in the evening with a glass of wine.
The building itself is very secure, requiring a key fob to access the parking garage, the front door, and even the elevators. There's a pool and small gym on the second floor, should you desire, as well as a rec area with couches, TV, and pool table. There is secure parking, but the assigned spot is genuinely best suited for a very small car (aka Mini-Cooper, etc); this isn't a complaint, just something to keep in mind if you rent. Warned by Peggy that the space was compact, we ended up with a sedan (Kia Forte?) which seemed small, but barely fit. We literally 4" to spare on each side, and the passenger had to get out before parking or crawl out of the driver's side due to a wall on that side.
As for the neighborhood, it is a quick 5-10 minute walk to the convention center through the lively Gaslamp district, and I never felt unsafe doing so. There are many, many restaurants and bars in the area, and there were lots of people out and about after dark, even on Mondays. Plus there's a CVS right around the corner that can provide you with most anything you might have forgotten, including lots of snack options.
Overall a great experience, and we plan to try and stay here again the next time we're in town.
Over and beyond expectations. Peggy is a caring host and went out of her way to make sure my gf and I had a pleasant 3 day weekend, the building staff also were extremely accommodating too. Location is perfect, parking is exceptionally convenient the building is top of the line, with outdoor pool and spa. The studio is comfortable with all the comforts. The outdoor patio really opens up the place and gives you a secluded place to enjoy the atmosphere of gaslamp which is literally just an elevator ride away. Can not praise this location and the owner enough, book with confidence.
