I moved to New York City in 2009 to get my masters degree in Library and Information Science. I fell in love with Brooklyn in those couple of years and have decided not to leave. I have a wonderful housemate and we decided to get a three bedroom so that we can host airbnb guests during the summer months.
I'm an animal person and a plant person. I grew up on a small farm in CA, and had created a small indoor jungle in my bedroom in the 17 years I lived in my childhood home. I raised goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, rabbits, you name it (except cows. Don't name cows). I also foster small dogs in NYC when I am able.
I work for UNICEF in the Department of Communications, and I manage their internal site search. It is rewarding work that I enjoy, and generally the content is uplifting, though sometimes challenging. I love working in such a diverse environment, though. People are from all over the world, and they are all amazing.
I enjoy traveling. In fact I love airports and flying. I've been to several states, usually going to a conference is my excuse to travel.
As an airbnb host, my main wish is that you respect my 9-5 hours. That doesn't mean you can't come home late (this is the city that never sleeps, after all), but it does mean that you come home quietly when it is late, and not bring any parties back with you. Otherwise, we offer you so much by way of maps and things to do nearby. Between me and my housemate, we are a wealth of information about life in New York City.
