My stay in Ricardo's home was wonderful. The layout and design of his place is really interesting - which makes sense since he is an architect - and it's a very comfortable place to stay for a Montreal getaway. The location was perfect - very central - just 10 - 15 min walk to the gay village, or to the Plateau. There are rental bikes (Bixi bikes) just down the street which are great - a really easy way to get around.
Ricardo was really friendly and helpful, and he responded quickly by text / email. He was also very flexible in terms of my arrival and departure, which was appreciated.
I'd recommend staying at Ricardo's if you are looking for an interesting place and an easy stay in a good location.
We had such a special time here! This is a fabulous opened-concept studio (the only enclosed space is the toilet) that is perfect for a peaceful and romantic getaway in Montreal. Everything was as it was described. We loved the hammock and the amount of natural light in the space.
The neighbourhood is quiet, but not too far from the Latin Quarters. There're a few Bixi stations within the block in several directions. Ricardo was responsive throughout the booking process and was extremely helpful in providing information and making recommendations to local hangouts. We look forward to our stay here again!
Very nice stay at Ricardo's place.
Location, style, comfort and great hospitality all converge to make Ricardo’s loft-style apartment an excellent stay!
I stayed with Ricardo while in Montreal on business. My schedule was extremely hectic with less room for play than I would have liked. Ricardo was beyond gracious and helpful offering me use of his bicycle and anything else I could think of. Anything I needed, he made sure I had access to that same day. When I asked him to suggest a suitable travel route to a faraway work location, he did better than offer up options, he drove me there. That saved me over an hour of transit time and gave me more time to enjoy the city.
The location was convenient and provided the perfect base for a Montreal stay. It was close enough to the heart of downtown without the constant hustle and a skip away from the beautiful La Fontaine Park. The accommodations were extremely comfortable and outside of the occasional light hum of people on the street, Ricardo’s place was peaceful and serene. The design of the space felt like a swank New York apartment. It was an open concept design but the layout made the bedroom area feel private and separate. With its unique exposed wood beams, plenty of natural light, a terrace that captures the afternoon sun flawlessly and a hot tub/ separate shower combo that is to die for… this place is near perfect! It is a slice of spa-life with the lazy ease of being located right in your home. The accessories in the apartment are a great compliment to this layout. They include cool cow print throw rugs, two surprisingly comfortable bean bag chairs, powerful little speakers with auxiliary input and great, variable lighting to suit any mood and if you ask, he might even set up the hammock for you– yes, I said hammock. Different variations of these features take the space from Zen-like spa to hip entertaining space within a couple of minutes and with no noise complaints for either set-up. I had my peace and no one complained if I turned up the music occasionally. All that I was missing was an in-house masseur credited with making the perfect Negroni and I think I would have had to extend my stay. Fortunately after my experience with Ricardo, I am sure that if I asked he probably would have found one for me. This may be something to consider for future visits.
I love it! I have found my new Montreal crash pad.
TIP: If you stay here, check out Boulangerie ArHoMa. It’s an easy saunter down the street and has great bread and the some of the best baked-goods I have tried this side of Europe.
That was an awesome experience, to stay at Ricardo's place and meet him ...felt so comfortable...like old buddy even tho met for the first time. Ricardo is very accommodating, helpful and his place is cool. Location is convenient...only 10 mins walk to the metro stn on Papineau. All in all it was a great. I'd totally do this again if ever come back to Montreal. Cheers
Ricardo was an excellant host. The accomendations were beautiful, and exactly as described. His studio is walking distance to downtown, and old montreal. Studio appartment is beautiful, and great for any couple wanting a get away. I will definatly contact Ricardo the next time I am in Montreal!
I went to Montreal with 3 friends and we had an incredible time in Ricardo's loft. It is so beautifully designed, and we loved having the 2 balconies to hang out on. The work Ricardo has done to the unit is stunning, particularly the shower and jacuzzi ! It's a wonderful place to stay as a couple but there is ample space for 4 or more people to stay. Ricardo was also very accommodating and made sure that we had everything we needed, and helped us to sort out parking our car and everything. He was a wonderful host, and I will be calling him next time I'm heading to Montreal !
Ricardo was a great host! His apartment is really interesting and beautiful - he designed and renovated it himself. It was quiet and peaceful and had the best shower! The only drawback is that there's not many interesting things to do in the immediate neighborhood. You're not too far from getting to those interesting places though. A beautiful park is very close by!
Ricardo was very accommodating and full of information about where to to and what to do in Montreal. He made us feel at home. I would definitely recommend Ricardo's place to anyone visiting Montreal.
Ricardo was a great guest at our home. I hope you guys had a great time exploring Brooklyn!
