Phillippe was easy to contact via email. We were a family of 4 travelling with young children and plenty of luggage, so Phillippe kindly met us at the train station and drove us to the apartment. The apartment, while small, is newly renovated and comfortable. The location of the apartment is perfect for accessing markets and the sights of the old town, and is just a fifteen minute walk from the train station. The old town of Tours is delightful, with plenty of history and a plethora of cafes and markets - the old town square is a must see.
M. Phillipe was a most gracious host. The apartment was thoroughly modern with functioning air conditioning. There was a heat wave while we were in France and the cool apartment was a treat. The rooms were small but nicely furnished. The apartment was thoroughly clean. There is a small living room area with a functional but restricted kitchen. If your desire is to do real cooking, this kitchen will not be sufficient. If, like us, your desire is to have breakfast and maybe sandwiches in the apartment, the kitchen will be more than sufficient. The apartment is very well located in a very quiet street that is within 2-3 blocks of the center. In the center (Place Plumereau) there are more restaurants than one can imagine and they are all heavily frequented. The city teems with youth (18 – 30) out in the center and along the riverbank enjoying the evening air. The apartment is far enough away that you are not bothered by the noise but close enough to get there easily.
The furniture in the apartment is modern but sparse. It is ample. The beds were most comfortable. The bathroom facilities and showers were modern and very functional (not always a “gimme” in France). There was plenty of hot water (also not a “gimme” in France). There was a public parking one block away that cost 12 Euros for 24 hours. It was very convenient.
I would happily stay again in this apartment again when I return to Tours.
The property faces an alley. It's very modern, having been recently built/remodeled. The building is not completely finished with raw, unpainted wood lining the halls. The unit has a minimal kitchen. The air conditioning was excellent.
This apartment would best suit a group looking for convenience, but not as interested in style or architecture.
When we arrived (at 5:00pm), the unit was not ready. We returned at 6:00 and it was still not ready.
Philippe was very prompt with responses, however, and did his best to make our stay comfortable.
Accueil chaleureux et bons conseils donnés par Philippe.
Logement bien agencé/équipé et entièrement refait à neuf.
Quartier calme à proximité des places festives du centre.
Si la description vous convient vous serez loin d'être déçus !
It was a lovely experience interacting with Philippe and staying at the apartment. We were a family of 6 so the sitting room was a little tight but the bedrooms were perfect. The apartment was quite central to all our city walks. I'd love to visit again, soon.
Philippe was easy to contact with our French phone & immediately available upon our arrival in Tours. The apartment is lovely & newly remodeled, but very small. We were three, so our daughter slept on the pull out sofa in the living room. (This didn't matter to us, as we really only slept & showered there.)
The best part of this airbnb is that it is so close to the "old city" of Tours which is fantastic to wander through. The neighborhood itself is gorgeous, with beautiful buildings, monuments, churches, etc.
We were very happy that we visited Tours and had such a nice place to stay.
Ce logement est idéal pour un séjour à Tours. Tout y est très bien organisé, très propre, et Philippe est un hôte fort sympathique! N’hésitez pas, réservez sans craintes!
