As an AirBnB host myself, i was thoroughly impressed with Maggie and her dreamy home. Great value for such a fantastic location. It's in a waterfront community just outside the Honolulu hustle and bustle, just East of Diamond Head. Gorgeous views, clean and luxury homes everywhere you look but just a five minute drive East takes you to some of the most pristine, untouched paradise. We watched whales blowing water spouts and flapping their tails on the top of the water - Awesome! And we saw this from the very eastern tip of Oahu where there are stunningly beuitiful hiking trails and beaches and blowholes and every adventure sport you can imagine. On the Northeastern shores there are gliders, hang gliders, parasailors, kite boarders, surfers, boogie boarders, reef diving/snorkeling, and I'm sure I'm missing a few more...amazing place.
The home itself is nice and very clean. The shared kitchen is fully stocked and everybody can pitch in and make group meals whenever they want to. Maggie is a good Hungarian cook and a fascinating person to talk to.
This was my first Airbnb experience, and it's sold me on the concept. Maggie was great, extremely curteous and helpful. The house was very clean, the room exceeded any expectation I personally had. We originally had planned to move around the island just for a change of scenery, but ended up staying here because it was so nice.
had a wonderful time at this house. being on the water was wonderful as were her 2 friendly dogs.
The neighborhood is very quite, safe, and relaxing. So we enjoyed walking in the neighborhood in the morning and afternoon. It's very close to Hanauma Bay, where is one of the famous snorkeling spots in Oahu, and is accessible to Honolulu and Kailua area as well. The room is very clean and gets comfortable breeze. Beds are very comfortable, too! Thank you so much for offering such a great place to stay!
With Maggie's years on the Island, we found her very informative in ways we hadn't imagined and helpful in finding our way around.
We had full use of the kitchen which $aved u$ and allowed us to eat "our" food.
Our room was big, full of windows and sliding doors which we left open the whole time to experience the cool breezes. There was a very nice patio off our room with a Bar-B-Q and a large table that we shared sometimes chatting with other guests.
Maggie's B & B is in a semi-private area where everyone has their boats off the back yard, yet only 8 miles from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki.
Oreo and Koa (her dogs) are very friendly and well mannered.
Should we retune to Oahu, we definitely will book with Maggie.
This was our first airbnb experience. Maggie was lovely and the room was exactly as described. The room was very clean and spacious and the courtyard was very pleasant. Its a fantastic location with all amenities and restaurants within 5 minutes drive. Will definitely recommend this room to others. Thanks Maggie..hope the dogs enjoyed the pizza!
We can't say enough lovely things about Maggie and her home! First off, she took us in on a very last minute request as we were forced to stay on the island one more day due to a stand-by flight delay and had nowhere to stay. She was impressive with both response time & communication. We had our young daughter with us, but Maggie was ready to help us in our "time of need".
We had some extra time to drive around to experience more of Hawaii and communicating with Maggie during this time was so easy (she was very accommodating with our later check-in time). When we arrived in the evening, her dogs, Koa and Oreo, welcome us with protective barks, but soon showed their sweet and docile sides and were laying down letting us rub their bellies in a matter of minutes. Maggie led us on a tour of her home and grounds and then gave our daughter a bag of valentines chocolates which solidified her personal opinion of Maggie as "awesome" almost immediately :)
Maggie has everything you could ever need for a long or short stay, no matter what room you choose to stay in. We had the studio room as there were three of us, but the entire home was well-kept, beautifully decorated and had an atmosphere of hospitality that was like being hosted by a long-time friend. She has all the beach gear you could need, fresh linens, coffee, tea, condiments, dish ware, cooking utensils and more! The mini fridge came in especially handy for our snacks, beer and leis.
The real treat, however, are the front and back yards. Coconut trees, fresh lilikoi vines, plumeria trees... everything is so fragrant and lovely, we couldn't help but smell everything we passed by. And the dock is so gorgeous at dusk and sunrise! The mountains, the canal and the sweet sounds of birds singing. Our daughter couldn't pull herself away from the dock, looking at jellyfish, ducks and the coral and plant life in the water. The cool night time breeze coming through the open and screen doors to the lanai made for a very peaceful sleep. In the morning, Maggie took our daughter behind her house to pick a few just ripened, fresh lilikoi (passion fruit) from the vine and allowed us to eat them. So fresh and like nothing we've tasted from a store!
To top off an already wonderful one-night stay, Maggie extended her graciousness one step further by allowing us to borrow her snorkel gear for one last beach trip and even come back for showers after we had checked out, so we wouldn't be sandy for our long flight home. She wowed us beyond measure, so we will be back if she will have us!
Maggie is an incredible hostess with a warm heart and a wonderful spirit who we highly recommend as one of favorite Air BnB spots thus far in our experience! We are still smiling :)
Maggie made us feel welcome with a big smile and friendliness. She unfortunately did not give us the complete run-down for recycling and such. The neighbourhood is beautiful, quiet and safe. Parking is no problem and the roads are in excellent condition.
We enjoyed our stay at Maggis place. The room was well equipped and comfortable ! Maggie rents more rooms in her house so there are other guests there, which we liked. (i guess its good to know though, because there is always a coming and going). The suburb is really pretty and there are shops nearby. Probably better to have a car, makes things easier. Good spot for a couple of days !
A great host, was very accommodating and had lots of towels and gear etc for us to borrow. Will def stay again.
