The hosts were very friendly and helpful, they helped us on several occasions to find our way and organize our trip. The room was gorgeous and right in the heart of the old town, brilliant location.
Good rooms, clean and well equipped, in one of the prettiest parts of Chania old town. Only one street in from the harbour. Would definitely go back (did go back at the end of the week).
A most delightful experience. The air conditioning broke down and we were immediately upgraded. The breakfast was fabulous.
Our hosts greeted us upon arrival and were very friendly and helpful. They often sat in the reception area when we returned from our day's adventure, and we usually stopped in to chat and tell them what we experienced. They went out of their way to help us.
Katerina Tradional Rooms lies in the center of the Old Town Chania and is within a short stroll to the harbor, the restaurants and small shops - as well as to the main street. Our large room was charming, with french doors that opened out to the balcony overlooking the narrow street below.
We used our B&B as a base for taking hikes in Samaria and Imbros. We also took a boat trip to Gramvousa/Balos from Kissimos and had hike from Chora Sfakion to Loutro, staying there for one night. Chania is within a short drive to many attractions in eastern and southern Crete. One thing to mention for those who chose to rent a car - it is not always easy to find parking near the Old Town. We always managed to find a spot, but usually had to walk about 5-10 minutes to and from the car.
What we knew we would miss most from our stay was sipping coffee/tea on the balcony in the morning and enjoying good drink in the evening - with traditional Greek music from the restaurant below!
Ioannis was friendly and gave us a warm welcome. The room was clean and hat a little balcony, which was nice. The house is in the middle of the town, we had to go to bed early and it was a little noisy because most of the people of chania hadn't. But this was not a big problem for us. Thank you.
Sehr freundlich. Sehr entspannt. Super Frühstück inklusive.
The Papadaki brothers were the most generous hosts I have ever encountered. Although I am Greek, living in the U.S., and generally, our standards are quite high when speaking of hospitality and generosity,I can honestly say that I was truly impressed. The room was dreamy and romantic, on a quaint little cobbled street lined with beautiful flowers, and the room is exactly what we were expecting, roomy, well-kempt, and clean. The location in old town is exquisite and accessible from every perspective with hundreds of things to do. Our hosts were available at our every hour and whim, even going out of their way to make you maps to the most difficult to reach beaches which are only on few maps. They will bring you someone to your very door to make contracts for car rentals, and even recommend the best places to eat and drink. I would stay there any day of the year, reasonable pricing and lots of care. Thank you guys.
We felt so welcomed, Papidakis brothers were helpful in all respects, making us feel as comfortable as possible! located in energetic old town, you're about a block away from the port. the studio apt was as described, with a heavenly bed, new bathroom, and a tiny balcony overlooking a great taverna (Ela taverna) right below- give the food a try there! We will be looking for this place again the next time we visit. Great deal, do not miss out on this!
Ioannis and Dimitris are fantastic hosts. They were very accommodating, helped us experience the non-touristy portions of Chania, and gave us a bottle of wine upon arrival. Upon our arrival, Dimitris helped game-plan our stay in Crete and made some great recommendations for sites and beaches to visit. He even let me borrow a USB charger for our stay.
The room we stayed in had an attached porch, which was great during the warm evenings. The location of the Katerina Traditional Rooms is both accessible from easy Chania street parking and near to the Old Port--we really couldn't have asked for more. There are a great restaurant and bar cocktail bar across the alley the Rooms if you get in later during the evening, and there is so much to see nearby.
Dimitris also knows about playing some football nearby--I'll be sure to reach out and bring my boots next time I come to the Katerina Traditional Rooms. Thanks again, guys!
My girlfriend and I had a great time staying at Katarina . Ioannis and his brother (forgot your name my friend!) made us feel very welcome. The room was clean, nostalgic and had a romantic atmosphere to it. What made our stay special though was the helpfulness, genuine friendliness, and enthousiasm of the Papidakis brothers. They even (with some female help of one of their wives) helped me to surprise my girlfriend. Their place thus comes highly recommended; especially for couples!
