I Don't know where to start from, but Gio's flat is no strange for me, this is my second trip to Rome, and my second stay at Gio's flat, and as usual Gio is a perfect host, she is so nice and a great helper, she is always there whenever you need her.
few days before my arrival, she contacted me for the timing and arrival at her flat, as she was waiting for me downstairs with the same warm smile and welcoming eyes. The flat is perfect, cozy, very clean and warm, everything as described in her profile, did I mention that one of the best thing in Gio's flat is there is sun everywhere, the front and back window provide an extra nice light and sun during the cold days, this is one of the perfect things about her flat. The bathroom is clean and bright, and the hot water is an additional perfect non stop thing.
The neighborhood is young, safe and you can almost find everything around you, during the heavy raining days, you can get all the items for a decent fresh home made cooking from the small market near the church, vegetables, meat, chicken or sea food, all fresh and just couple of hundred meters walking, not to mention the restaurants, pizzerias, bakery and grocery shops just few meters around the house. Did I mention the nice small winery at the corner =D
So, Gio's flat is perfect for a real Rome vacation, plus the termini is just 10 mins walk from home where you can take the train or any other transport to all over Italy.
Rome is my beloved vacation spot, for 2 years now, every year I take few days to fly to Rome, and Gio's flat is my second home away from my home. As promised Gio, wait for me the next year.
The reservation was canceled 70 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
My experience with Gio was great. I was in Rome for an internship for 2 months. My office was right around the block from the flat so it was perfect for me. It looks just the pictures. Everything was cleaned before I got there - bathroom, floors, bed sheets, towels, etc. Cable TV did not work for my stay but I don't watch much TV so it wasn't a problem. WiFi internet was great. It's a great location in a great neighborhood. Close to main train station Termini (10 min walk) as well as walking distance (for me at least) to all the main attractions.
I also liked that Gio didn't check up on me or come to the flat unless I had a problem, which I had none. I like my privacy. She was very helpful if you need help with anything at the place or around the area. I am happy that I stayed here.
Gio's flat is LOVELY, very spacious, very stylish, nice and cool even when it was 30 degrees outside, and in a really great and lively area with a Carrefour supermarket right next door. The Cimitero del Verano is 5min walk and absolutely worth a visit if you're into cemeteries. It is STUNNING. Would definitely stay here again :)
We didn't meet Gio personally but her friend let us in and was very accommodating about meeting us very late (12:30 at night!) .
The apartment was cool even in the heat of a Rome summer. Overall it was as described (except there was no imac as in the pictures - not that we needed to use it).
Do note that the bed is a bit small - twin size I believe so it wasn't super comfortable for two people to sleep on it and one person ended up on the cot that was included. If you like to sleep very close it should be ok, otherwise consider that one of you may need to take the cot for comforts sake. The neighborhood is out of the way but has a lot of cool student type activites on the weekends, street fairs, bars etc. There was some street noise but pretty typical for any big city with the windows open.
Staying in Gio's appartment was a real pleasure. I fell in love with it from the first sight on the fotos and was totally satisfied during my staying. It is decorated stylishly and very cosy that i felt myself at home. I had everything i needed at my disposal, no problems with water or wifi. The atmosfere in the appartment and its location afford you to feel yourself a real italian. The district itself is very lively you will find yourself in the center of entertainment of young people of Rome. that was a really exciting experience. nearby you can find a bus stop and tram stop to get to the main sightseens of Rome. You can walk by feet it to Termini - it takes about 20-25 minutes but i do not suggest you to do it with heavy luggage (the roads in Rome are not suitable for such walkings) as i did- better take a taxi. But i was lucky as Gio's friend helped me to take all my bags in. He and Gio were very friendly and welcoming (although it was 23 of friday and of course they had their own plans) they told me everything i needed about appartment and Rome and answered all my questions and also told me they are always available if i had some questions or problems. I highly reccommend staying in Gio's appartment.
Everything was fine. The Studio was exactly like described. Its very comfortable and well located in Rom. Any major attraction can easily be reached by public transport, which is in fact very cheap in Rom. Gio was very friendly and has given me some excellent insider tips of good food in the neighborhood.
I had a very nice stay.
My stay at Gio's apartment was great. It is a spacious loft like studio with 2 major windows that let in a lot of natural light. The surrounding area is safe situated near a few colleges so you will see quite a bit of young adults congregating outside at night. THere is a 4 story walk up so don't brind a ton of luggage! But very easy to navigate. The apartment was decently cleaned and I was provided 2 towels.
Getting to the apartment from the airport is a bit of a mess given the airport is 45mins away from the city center. I suggest taking one of the buses fromt he airport to Termini (5-6 euros) then taking a cab from termini to the apartment. Beward the cab drivers will rip you off. You can walk, but if you don't know any Italian it is a futile effort. It's abotu a 20 mins walk and fairly easy once you've done it once. On the way out I walked to Termini and took the bus (4 euros) back to the airport.
I never actually met Gio as she was at work when I arrived but her friend that let me in was extremely helpful in showing me how to get to termini, where the grocery store was and even how to walk to the Colosseum if I wanted.
Is easy review my friend Giovanna: she's a guest nice, friendly and very attentive to his guests, fluent in French and English; and she has very broad interests, so it 's hard don't find a point of contact with her.
And the guesthouse reflects Giovanna's way of life: simple and sophisticated…
Giovanna's Apartment in the fresh neighbourhood of San Lorenzo is a unique opportunity to experience Rome in it's rare beauty and style. It's a classy, cozy, open-space app in a REAL ancient Roman quarter that still lives a routine that you can only wish to taste in your tourist dreams.
I was in Giovanna's for few days and really enjoyed her place: it is a very well decorated and full furished loft. Giovanna is a very giving host, full of smart suggestions for a perfect staying in Rome. San Lorenzo is a very nice area with galleries and pubs, especially for nightime. From there one can also easily reach any other roman area. Have a nice vacation in Giovanna's loft !
she is a very perfect host:) she speaks fluently 3 languages, is very friendly and her house is simply one of the best and cheapest location in rome!...so don't hesitate and book her cosy flat right now!
