Maison de campagne très agréable, beaucoup d'animaux dont des chevaux magnifiques. Tout le personnel super gentil et attentionné.
Great communication and very comfy space.
Rita was a delightful host. Her home is an eclectic compound with goats, horses, and beautiful views from the pool patio. We enjoyed the privacy of our cabin with a fully operational kitchen. The public bus to Alajuela was cheap and easy to use. We would recommend Villa Rita to anyone arriving in Costa Rica for the first time. It's close to the airport, Rita and Terry are very helpful, and the lodgings are a great value.
It is such a wonderful place: horses, goats, ducks, lime trees and a view of the mountains. I had a wonderful month there. I can't wait to return and learn more about quilting.
The cottage was perfect for a short stay prior to flying out of the San Jose airport. It was quiet, and the friendly dogs and horses were a welcome addition! We would have loved to have had a small fan for the bedroom. Terry was helpful but not intrusive at all.
Villa Rita is a great place to stay if you are touring Costa Rica. It is centrally located, just a 10 min drive to either the Pan American highway or highway 27 to the Pacific coast. A 5 min walk will get you to a bus or to a grocery store that has everything except produce. The cottage was comfortable and had all the necessities ( we stayed 6 weeks ). Being from a farm ourselves, we enjoyed the farm animals and the country atmosphere. From the rancho, the view of the central valley and the mountains beyond was second to none. Terry and her mom Rita were very friendly and accommodating, providing transportation to and from the airport and tips on what to see. We loved Costa Rica and it was a nice break from the cold Canadian winter. Gracias! Nils and Edna Trobak.
We enjoy it a lot, it is a great place< tks to Terry and her family!
Terry was a wonderful host. Her mother, Rita picked us up from the airport for a nominal fee. She is originally from the United States, which made it easy for us to communicate with her in English. The house we stayed in was away from the main house so we had plenty of privacy. The house was very clean, nicely decorated with handmade quilts and we had everything that we needed (fridge, wireless internet, microwave, fan that we did not need, etc). The next morning she even gave us a wake up call and directed us to the bus station. The bus stop to San Jose is less than a ten minute walk from the house. We will gladly stay with Terry again.
nice accomocation, only difficult to find if it is dark and rainy.
I stayed at Villa Rita for 3 nights. I have to say that Rita was very accomodating. She accepted my last minute reservation and even altered her schedule to pick me up directly from the Marriott in Escazu where I'd been staying instead of from the San Jose airport. The casita itself is situated in an absolutely beautiful location! Make sure you take in the view from the backyard/ pool area! It is amazing! Moreover, Rita has a beautiful family, her spunky granddaughter was sweet and amusing and her daughter was kind enought to assist me with obtaining a knowing taxi driver when it came time for me to continue my journey. All in all you'll save a bundle staying here as opposed to at internationally known hotels and be able to take advantage of the knowledge of [English speaking] locals who know all about the area. : ]
