Aoife and her family were very welcoming and accomdating; providing maps, directions and even breakfast! Their home is perfectly locate in a lovely neighbourhood close to the city centre. Inside was everything needed and very pleasant decor, not to mention some excellent records (we loved the Ethiopian jazz!). Aoife and her husband left their numbers in case we needed them too! Akseli, Fasu and myself really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this home for all.
In short, I want to stay here again. Now for the review.
Aoife and Brien were great hosts and helped make our Christmas great!
My wife, young son and I could not have been happier with our stay. We were there for 10 days over Christmas. My wife and I loved all of the homey amenities that are missing from most hotel experiences, while our son loved the pile of toys and DVDs.
It was a great size for the 3 of us, though you could sleep 5 comfortably if needed.
It's so hard to tell from a map how close or far you are from anything. When we first arrived at night from the train station I thought we were in the middle of nowhere. Thankfully, I was quite wrong.
For location, it was great. It was close enough that we walked with ease to The Guinness factory, Phoenix park, the zoo and the Jameson's tour. There are also 3 buses within 2 minutes of the door that will take you all the way to City Center for only 2 Euros.
The neighborhood is very nice and quiet. 2 grocery stores on the block and a great chip shop as well. Pubs in the area were nice because no tourists make it out to here so you get a local's feel.
Thanks for the lovely review, Dave...we're so glad that you all enjoyed staying at our home and had a great time in Dublin...see you next time!
We had a great stay in aoife's house. Great location, a brisk 30 min walk gets you to grafton street or there are bus stops a couple of mins away taking you to city centre.
There is a tescos within 10 mins walk and pheonix park is at the bottom of the road so plenty to do.
The house itself has everything we needed and was perfect for us with our 20 month old daughter. There were toys galore which was great for a rainy day.
Aoife welcomed us in person with the essentials for breakfsst the next day and gave us all the info we needed
Had a lovely stay and would def use again.
Aiofe greeted us with a lovely cup of tea and tour of the house when we arrived, so we felt welcome. The house is beautiful, exactly as described. We liked the neighbourhood, it seemed quiet and neighbourly, and was close to everything we wanted to see. We'd definitely recommend staying here!
We arrived after a long trip from Seattle with our 7 year old daughter Meghan. We had coffee and bread with Brian as Meghan and children played. The listing is in a great location in a quiet neighborhood with lots of friendly people. Lots of children and a playground in a beautiful park only a 10minute walk away.
Very comfortable house and friendly local cats will stop by for a bit of milk or sit in the sun on the near by roof tops. Bus stop a 5min walk away. A walk to downtown district about 20min.
We had a great relaxing time here and would book again without hesitation!
A lovely house with a very homely feel. We had two young boys and it was perfect for them. They had lots of toys to play with and loved the house. The house was as described and well equipped. It is in a quiet location close to zoo and parks. A great holiday let.
We really enjoyed our stay at Aoife and Brian's home in Dublin. I didn't get a chance to meet Aoife, but Brian was extremely helpful and went above and beyond in making himself available for any questions that we had. We enjoyed the neighborhood - it's a 10-15 minute walk to the zoo and the park, and a 10-15 minute walk to trams that take you downtown in just a few stops. Nice cafes and a bakery are just minutes away around the corner. It's not a touristy area - you feel like you're living in a real neighborhood where people are living real lives. The house is simple and cozy - great for kids with lots of toys and books. We appreciated our time there.
Fantastic experience. Aoife and kids welcomed us in person. We enjoyed everything including the beautiful espresso cups, the spacious dining room, the handy washing line, the tv and wireless, the comfortable bunks in the kids' room, the art books (and lots of kids' books and toys left around too, plus an amazing tribe of rubber ducks)... I'm a Dubliner but hadn't spent much time in Stoneybatter before, and really enjoyed the neighbourhood's mix of traditional workingclass and gentrified (gourmet) elements. Great bus links to city centre and southside too. Highly recommended.
The house was great especially for a family. It is beautifully decorated and very cosy. Aoife was a great host. Very central and walking distance to Phoenix Park and the Zoo.
The reservation was canceled 86 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
It was so nice to meet Aoife and her family, and have there in the flat for few days. Aoife is very, very nice and comunicative person. We were in touch long before and during their visit.
I really recomend her visit to anybody she might ask for it!
