I stayed at Ana's place for 3 nights - this was the start of what would end up as a two week stay in Lisbon (area) ( I booked a later flight back home). Ana was the perfect host and very quickly welcomed me. The room was clean and I enjoyed going downstairs to have my morning coffee and croissant. It is a residential area and there are a couple of restaurants, two atm's and two small supermarkets. Apparently there is a bigger supermarket (Lidl) which is at a guess 15 - 20 minute walk. Ana offered me her bike (and parasol) for the beach which was very kind, but there is also a bus that can be caught just outside Ana's apartment. One day I walked from Costa de Caparica to Fonte de Telha (9kms) which is pretty much the whole stretch of Caparica - beach was fine (but sea kind of fresh) and good for a couple of days of relaxation before hitting Lisbon. Because I didn't have a car I asked Ana to show me around the area when I arrived in Lisbon - so she took my friend and I to Sintra, Cabo de Roca & the whole stretch back to Lisbon (Praia Grande, Guincho, Cascais, Estoril etc). The highlight for me was when Ana took us to a workers canteen up in Penedo and then to an ecofarm.... Ana regularly gives tours with an organisation - so we did pay for this wonderful day. I sometimes think you experience more when travelling with someone local..who can take you to the best spots....thank you Ana!
