I'm a translator and my husband is an architect. We like to travel and explore new places and meet interesting new people.
Brilliant apartment. Very light and spacious. In a quiet area but Warschauer Strasse U-Bahn and S-Bahn stations are just a 5 mins walk away and connect to many major stops. Very easy to get there from Schonefeld Airport. There is also a Lidl round the corner so ideal for eating in the well stocked kitchen. Friedrichshain area has many bars and clubs to keep you happy if you don't want to venture far.
Audrey is a lovely host. She was on holiday when we arrived but was easily contactable for help (note the front door is a bit tricky. Pull towards you and turn the key to the far left). A bottle of white wine on arrival! I can't drink red so she must be psychic ;) One night we ordered takeaway and she was willing to do it for us, even though we had it covered online.
I have highly recommended this apartment to friends for the location, space, interior and host. When I come back to Berlin I will definitely book this apartment.
We stayed for a week with my husband, 18-year old son and 85-year old mom. The apartment is very airy and light, the rooms are huge, airy, warm in winter (very effective heating), and very well equipped. You have basically everything you may need for cooking, laundry, ironing, sleeping, and there is even a nice selection of books in English. Wi-Fi is excellent.
The transportation is via U1 and several S lines that take you practically everywhere. Notice that there is no elevator to the S lines, which was an issue for my 85-year old mom, but should be no problem otherwise. There is a cafe downstairs, and a very nice Vietnamese restaurant on the corner - it does not look like much but the chef definitely knows what he is doing :)
Audrey is exceptionally nice, friendly, helpful in every way and provided a lot of extremely useful information you would not find in a guide book (e.g. where I could make a new frame for my glasses, and what is a good place to run - Treptower park, just 1 km west.). She is living next door, which is very convenient. I would definitely recommend staying there, and stay there again myself.
One down point - there is construction going on across the street, which was not a problem at all, but during our stay there was renovation of the inner courtyard as well, which made banging noises from 7am. If you plan to sleep in late - check if it is still in progress.
This has been our first visit to Berlin, and it did not disappoint! We were very impressed with the city, and extremely happy with the flat. It is spacious, minimalist, well located, veeeeery clean and deliciously warm once the heating went on. It's only on the first floor as well, so no arduous climbs late at night when you're longing for bed (I used to live in Barcelona an can tell you that it is NOT fun!). Will definitely be visiting again.
Really great clean & spacious apartment in a quiet corner (email hidden)ly area of Berlin. Very friendly & helpful host both prior to, and on arrival.
We stayed for 4 nights during Berlin Music Week. The apartment had everything we needed and more, and basically felt like home as soon as we arrived. Everything we needed outside the apartment was within walking distance: Supermarket, cafes, bars, restaurants, clubs, and transport links to the rest of the city.
Great apartment, great location, great host. Highly recommended. We'll be back...
We were in Audrey's apartment for 5 days. She was lovely, really helpful and informative, both before we arrived and during our stay. The apartment is big, clean and comfortable, and in a great area for transport and for nightlife, but the street itself is quiet. Locally, there's a corner shop, excellent coffee shops and a Vietnamese restaurant, all within 2 minutes walk - not forgetting the fabulous Royal Bar just around the corner.
Response from Audrey:
Thanks Linsay. Good you made it to Royal. That's a real local where you will meet no tourists whatsoever!
A great stay in a really lovely apartment. Audrey was a great host - hugely helpful, with lots of good information to pass on about Berlin, places to go, etc. She sent full directions and tips in advance too, which was very useful. The flat is huge, light and airy, and in a great area, a short walk to Boxhaganer Platz's lovely bars and weekend market, and a short walk over the river to Kreuzberg's bars and restaurants. Would recommend to anyone!
Response from Audrey:
Thanks Jude. Hope to see you back soon
Great location, and a clean and fully equipped apartment- all in all, this apartment is great value for money and Audrey was a very personable and accommodating host!
Loved this apartment. Great location, high ceilings with really cool plaster work. I am a man of particular taste, and difficult to please. As a living space, I would buy this apartment if I could, need I say more?
This apartment is a palace: spacious, spick and span, fabulously situated and serene. If you are looking for the best value accommodation in Berlin you've found it. Audrey's apartment made our stay in Berlin heaven.
It's easy to get to, in a quiet spot near everything we needed and allowed us to experience the best of Berlin's buzzing nightlife. What makes this apartment so damn good is Audrey's attention to the little things, that, upon arrival to your airbnb home, become very prominent - something not seen in even the most accurate of photographs (which really don't do the place justice): there's the shower head, the abundance of towels, effective heating, expansive clotheshorse, awesome iPod speakers, high ceilings, cooking essentials, wonderful coffee machine, friendly neighbours, changes of linen, comfy armchairs, calming balcony....
And all that's without mentioning the generosity that encompasses Audrey herself. Audrey is kind, extremely organised, caring yet never over bearing. In other words, the dream host.
So I guess that offers a pretty good explanation as to why we rearranged our european travel plans just to stay again! (She even allowed us to leave about a large suitcase worth of stuff so as to make our travels lighter)
Have you pressed the "book now" button yet?
What can I say? Just wonderful! The apartment was great, comfortable and warm, such good value for money. Audrey was perfect, and as she lives next door she was always on hand (or available by text or email) with advice about great places to eat and drink off the beaten track. Would recommend staying here.x
Have been 3 fantastic guests• I was honored to have Audrey as a guest in my house. She was the ideal guest that every landlord would like to have: respectful, clean, polite and very generous. I hope to have her again soon. FIVE thumbs up! Marco
