I grew up in Humboldt County
Julie's place was perfect for our 1 night stay in Eureka. Quick 5 minute drive downtown and in a very quaint and cute neighborhood. She left a welcome note with a list of site seeing and food - much appreciated!
This is very cute, clean, quiet and comfortable one bedroom. It was conveniently located for getting around Eureka and the surrounding area. Julie was very helpful and responsive and provided recommendations for places to visit/eat etc. I would definitely stay here again.
It was comfortable and roomy. Easy street parking in a nice neighborhood.
The open closet in the bedroom made it easy to stow luggage out of the way.
Definitely a better option than staying in any of the hotels downtown.
We had a great stay with Julie who was a wonderful host. Her place was very comfortable and we instantly felt at home.
Julie make a list for place to see where to eat that wonderful.
highly recommend for anyone needing a place in Eureka.
Thank you Julie
We had a great time in Eureka. Beautiful weather. Beautiful house. Make sure to go to Los Bagels and Fern Canyon.
This apt. was the perfect accommodation for us while we were in Eureka doing research for a book. The place was spacious and cozy at the same time with all the amenities we needed to read, write, and take in the local sights. There appear to be many quaint or hip places to stay in Eureka but for the practical-minded this apt. lets you concentrate on your agenda with complete independence in a great location. We got our work done but we'd like to come back just for the heck of it next time we're in NoCal.
My sister and I stayed in Julie's lovely home for 4 nights. The bed was comfy, the heaters in the 2 main rooms worked great, and we were close to main roads but were not disturbed by any traffic.
We arrived later than we had anticipated, but Julie was accommodating and showed us into the rooms. She'd set up the kitchen with coffee, a selection of teas, and a bowl of fresh fruit. And in her note she mentioned the weird ticks that all older houses have, which was much appreciated since she was going out of town.
She even left us a spare key since no one would be around to let us in if we did get locked out.
The only complaint I have is that we weren't informed that the stove/oven were broken until we arrived. We'd been planning to keep travel costs down by eating 'at home' and, though the microwave worked and she'd provided a hot plate, the kitchen was one of the main reasons we chose to stay with her.
Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed my stay, I just wish I'd known about the lack of cooking surfaces before we booked, or had been given a discount for the lack of a fully functioning kitchen.
That said, I would definitely stay with Julie again. Hey, stuff happens!
Julie was a great host! She suggested some wonderful places to visit, which really made our trip. We wouldn't have known to take Avenue of the Giants on our drive up and it was awesome! Also, thanks to her, our breakfast was delicious as she recommended that we check out this delicious little bagel place downtown.
Julie was nice. The stove wasn't working upon arrial, for some reason. So, she got a burner plate for us. We had to use is for the whole week, but we made it work. The space is very nice and relaxing and the space heaters that are there work VERY well at keeping the place warm and cozy.
We had a great night in Eureka! Very nice accommodations :)
