Se dovessi ritornare a Perugia, soggiornerei qui.
Luca and Fabiana were fantastic hosts. Their place is very accomodating to guests and they really open up the use of the rest of the property to you. The pool was an awesome treat on our transition from the beach into Umbria/Tuscany. Perugia is now my most fav town in Italy - what an incredible place! Luca's place is is the best part of Perugia. We had a car so that helped. His place is hard to find so I would recommend getting directions from him ahead of time.
Luca and Fabiana are very friendly and went out of their way to make me confortable. I arranged to arrive a day earlier than originally intended, but got confused and actually arrived two days early. Luca and Fabiana were most gracious and welcoming all the same, and didn't for a moment make me feel bad about it.
The area of the house I had to myself was spaceous, included balcony space with a magnificant view, and also included a bathroom with a tub, shower and toilet. The plumbing was a little dodgy (water ran out of the bath while I was in it, and the shower head didn't give a great stream of water) but it still felt pretty luxurious. If you're a non-smoker - like me - you'll probably want to stick to your own quarters as much as possible because the rest of the house always smells a little of stale cigarette smoke, but this smell didn't intrude in my own area.
It is possible to stay here without a car, but you need to be willing to be a bit resourceful and/or take a few taxis - a little expensive in Perugia. I managed by taking a bus into town (at the very few and early times available) and walking home. Walking both ways, and having energy left to walk around town would be asking a lot of yourself as it's uphill all the way. But walking home is possible if you are sensible about making sure you can be seen by traffic, and carry a torch if it's dark. One day the buses weren't running and I hitch-hiked up the hill. The woman who stopped was delightful, and I had a most enjoyable day. I did get the impression though that most Peruginas are unlikely to st.
I was disappointed that the pool was covered throughout my visit: it was one of my reason's for choosing this place. I had writing work to do, and swimming, or something similar is an essential part of maintaining my well-being. It would not have been too cold to swim by my standards.
Otherwise, a really enjoyable experience!
