Must have horses, coffee, Mexican food, books, and laughter. My day job is usually something to do with IT, as in analysis (management and business) program/project management, marketing, or tech writing.
I've been fortunate to have seen some of the world's great cities--Hong Kong, Delhi, Vienna, Munich, Paris, Sevilla, London, Amsterdam--but I still get thrilled when the plan starts dropping down to land in San Francisco.
I can cuss or get myself into trouble in about six languages, but I can only hold a conversation in two, or maybe three on a good day. My favorite radio station is KPIG, but there's almost no music I don't enjoy, from Renaissance drinking songs to rockabilly.
I've written or edited everything from love letters and news letters to weapons systems ConOps. I've been known to take a dram of good Bourbon and keep trying to be a better Budddhist. My family is bi-coastal; I live and work on California's Central Coast, my husband works and lives in North Carolina with the kids, the cats, and the Cayuses.
As a traveller, I've done everything from horsepacking to business trips in India; I'm pretty self-sufficient and self-contained, travel light (as long as I don't have to carry formal wear), and some good coffee in the morning is my only real necessity. I can be perfectly content with my own company, or take advantage of the chance to converse with my hosts.
As for my motto, that would be "Hum a few bars and I'll fake it."
