Exceptional. Clever remodel of an old small-town hardware store. From the 1950's chest freezer renovated to function as a kitchen island to the classic Whirlpool and Hardware signs that light up on the wall, this place is a "man cave" like no other. Love love love. Kitchen is spacious and perfect for preparing meals for one or many including oversize dishwasher to help with clean-up. Bed is super comfy, wifi signal very strong and apartment style washer/dryer within the loft is very handy. Note: AT&T has not yet discovered Albany, WI, so their cell service is non-existent -- phone will show "no service"...won't even pretend it's trying by faking you out with one bar! Loft has top-notch wifi though - set up a (website hidden) account and you're good to go with internet-based phone service during your stay.
Thank you very much - you did an exceptional job remodeling this space!
This apt is spacious, well lit, and the kitchen is well equipped.
Such a cool place!! Can't believe this loft used to be an old hardware store. Clean, spacious, warm, and had everything we needed. My fiance couldn't stop looking around...he spent a full half hour checking out all the vintage knick knacks. Our pup was very comfortable there too! Mark was a great host...provided all the information we needed and was very accommodating when we requested a later checkout time!! It was a great place to stay during Canoecopia...removed from the marked up and crowded hotels in Madison.
great fun place to stay. bowling was super fun, and the local people are very friendly and fun!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mark's loft. The funky vibe of his hardware store revamp agreed with our aesthetic and we wanted for nothing. Our getaway in Albany was exactly what we needed and we look forward to visiting again!
Really great place. It was exceptionally clean when we arrived and the decor was awesome. Can't wait to go back in the warmer months.
Albany Loft is an excellent arrangement - it is in reality exactly as advertised !
Really fun place to stay! It's a unique experience
It was a beautiful and spacious place for our vacation. The town was small, but just the quiet we needed. We visited a local dairy and New Glarus.
What a fun spot! We stayed at Mark's space for New Years and it was the perfect getaway from Chicago (about 2.5 hours). No cell reception but there is WiFi. We enjoyed cooking in Mark's fully stocked kitchen -- but if you need anything specific for meals, I'd recommend bringing your own. Make sure to go grocery shopping beforehand! There isn't much in Albany aside from bars, small shops, and a gas station.
New Glarus is a quick 20 minute drive from Albany. Definitely check out the brewery, it's a must see! We went to a local bar after the brewery tour, it's worthwhile to walk around downtown New Glarus. Very picturesque.
Mark's space is close to lots of state parks and trails -- this is a great vacation spot for people who enjoy to drink, cook good food, and enjoy the outdoors. Pet friendly, our black lab enjoyed walking around and playing outside. This was our first time using airb&b and we'll definitely be back! Thanks for your hospitality, Mark!
Don't hesitate to have Mark as a guest! Kind and respectful :)
Mark stayed with us on his way back from Asheville where he had delivered a lost cat, so right off the bat we knew he'd be a good guy! We very much enjoyed having him stay with us. He was very nice and courteous and a really fascinating guy! Glad we had the chance to host him and would definitely recommend him as a guest to anyone.
