Im a business owner and full time working professional with interests in travel, education programs and personal development, dancing, hiking and meeting new people.
Sophia was a nice host and the apartment was in a great location with everything I needed. Before I booked Sophia explained it was Mardi Gras weekend in Sydney and there would be a lot of crowds and noise in the area as the apartment overlooks the parade. Some of her friends came round to watch the parade from our balcony but it was ok because they were all very nice and the party did not go all night. The apartment was clean and tidy throughout.
I had a great stay at Sophia's it's a lovely peaceful oasis right in the heart of the city! Location is awesome, you're really spoilt with everything on the doorstep within minutes. Plus loads of great little restaurants on the street if you're feeling lazy and don't want to walk far. (highly recommend Kaya for great Japanese food with a very cool cocktail bar below).
As Sophia mentioned I'm training a lot at the moment for an ultra marathon on top of work, which meant I was pretty tired when I got back in the evenings after pretty long days. Was so nice to come back to somewhere that felt like home where I could rest which was calm and peaceful. Sophia was also super lovely giving me some soothing Aloe Vera gel when I got surnburnt!
Oh and yes, she throws great parties, that was a fun unexpected end to my stay :-)
I'd certainly stay again or recommend to friends if they needed somewhere in the city.
I had a great week here. I could not have been more central .. I walked everywhere. When I moved in to the guest room I booked, by chance Sophia had a business trip away so I ended up enjoying the whole apartment. It was a lovely and much-needed sanctuary for me. Sophia was extremely welcoming and friendly and super-organised. Everything I needed seemed to be just round the corner - cinemas, the park, the Apple Store, Macrobiotic food, yoga classes, Meditation Space, Andrew Boy Charlton swimming pool, Circular Quay ferries. That's about if for me ... paradise! A small, well ordered space and a swimming pool. What more can you ask for - great value. Sophia is a very thoughtful and generous host, I highly recommend here.
Staying with Sophia was great, she was very welcoming. She was very helpful with providing knowledge of the local area and transport links. The apartment was clean, tidy and the location was great, very central, right on the door step of Hyde Park. We would recommend Sophia's place to anyone.
My son and his friend have lived for a week in the apartment of Sophia and it was the best accommodation they could find. He told me that Sophia is a special person and he wanted to spend more time because the accommodation was just ok.
The place is quite nice and the location is pretty damn good, just minutes away from CBD and right along the bus line out to Bondi Beach. The apartment had all the amenities that you could want, and plenty of great shops nearby to serve your every desire.
Sophia's apartment is in a very central location, at the Hyde Park end of Oxford Street. Compact and functional, it's an interesting and well-kept place with a great outlook over the city.
Sophie was helpful, flexible and very accommodating.
Sophia is a great host! I felt very welcome and at home staying in her apartment and would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in a great location close to the Sydney CBD.
Firstly, the apartment. Great location. The photos of each of the rooms look much better than they actually are. We hired the whole apartment, and it's 15th floor location has great views.
There was no wifi as stated. Sophia seemed nice when we first arrived but was repeatedly In the flat throughout our stay.
Sophia had double booked our accommodation for one night at the end of our stay. We initially agreed that this would be ok, but no clarification was made in the sleeping arrangements. We paid a full amount for the apartment. On the day of the 2nd guest arriving we were woken at 10am in the morning and were asked to vacate one of the bedrooms. After asking Sophia or further clarification on the sleeping arrangements, her response was that we would need to figure this out. She was very inhospitable and unhelpful. Both parties were charged full price during the double booking.
Subsequently, when we tried to discuss the matter, Sophia became hysterical and asked us to leave in an abusive tone using foul language.
We discussed the issue in a coffee bar, I returned to collect our belongings where upon Sophia began to throw our clothes into the hallway. During the negotiations we remained calm and were in no way abusive or threatening. We kept airbnb updated throughout the discussions.
To emphasise, I would not recommend staying at Sophias place. Our eviction caused enormous inconvenience as we had to arrange emergency accommodation.
This was our first airbnb experience, and we were left with a very sour taste.
Sophia's place is perfectly situated on the edge of the Sydney CBD in a comfortable inner city apartment accompanied by the ever so friendly Sophia.
The apartment had every I needed and is located within a short walk to great takeaway and the rest that Sydney has to offer.
Would stay again.
I didnt get chance to meet Sophia but when i came back home..My room was as clean as I had left earlier. My flatamte also liked her. Will definitely love to host her again.
Sophia is someone who I have huge respect for. She is incredibly considerate, makes an effort to accommodate you, is incredibly thoughtful and lovely, not only a great location but an amazing host!!
If you learn the house rules, and ‘stick to them’ you will have a great stay
