As a writer I am constantly looking to add color into my life. I enjoy exploring because when I am out and around traveling to new places this is usually when I meet the most interesting people. I am very open minded and I enjoy trying things I have never done and never thought I'd ever do. I welcome people to challenge me mentally as this helps me to grow as a person. I enjoy mingling with folks from all over the globe because I am then introduced to new cultures, different perspectives and ultimately, a slew of story ideas. I like to collect and share information and tips I gain while reading, traveling, cooking and just about anything I do because I feel word-of-mouth, just opening up and speaking to people is one of the best ways to learn.

Things I could not live without would be an infinite amount of space in my notebook and a pen; I wouldn't be able to survive without my library card or my passport. These things are what propel me, they help to make me the person I am.

As a traveler, I appreciate the spontaneity of travel. Very rarely do I resort to using maps or guidebooks. I like to roam and get a sense of the places I'm visiting as a local would. I feel often times a map sets you a part from everyone else, you are automatically viewed as an outsider. I prefer to be one with the inhabitants of the cities, countries, towns I am visiting. Hopefully in the near future I will get the opportunity to be a host so I can offer to travelers what I have so generously experienced as a guest in the homes of so many all over the world.

I saw this scrawled on a wall in Rome, Italy three years ago, "All you need is to play" and it stuck with me all these years. I believe in hard work but I also think you should find the fun in whatever you are doing or trying to accomplish. The best work gets done when your heart is in it.
