My daughter had traveled to New Orleans and she wanted to be with me for on my first visit. We decided to stay close to the central heart of the city for roaming to all of the places we agreed to see. Fortunately we found a fabulous roomy apartment on Esplanade. We were welcomed by Lauren who graciously showed us around. Staying at Lauren’s space was convenient, safe, spacious, comfortable and fun. We were so close to the heart of everything in New Orleans. For example, we were blocks from the ancient cemeteries and could walk across the street to the fabulous Ports of Call restaurant for perfect filet Mignon. The lockable iron-gate in front of our door where one walked out onto Esplanade Street was a secure bonus. The bedroom and living room’s high ceilings dwarfed its inhabitants. The bed and its bedding was cozy snug. Everywhere you looked in the rooms, there were artistically clever displays – like a floor length peacock feather headband and a full head-covering rabbit’s mask. We highly recommend this amazing great space! Lauren is a doll also!! Thank you Lauren1
The place was so cute! The location was perfect and Lauren was super attentive. No complaints at all :)
Easy check in and clean room. However the flooring is uneven and can easily trip you up as it's becoming unglued from the subfloor.
Probably the best location we have stayed in New Orleans. Walking distance from the French Quarter, Frenchmen Street, Jazzfest (fairgrounds) and CBD.
Lauren was extremely helpful and quick to respond to any question.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the pied-a-terre. The apartment is clean, spacious, cleverly decorated, and every bit as beautiful as it is shown in the pictures. Lauren made every effort to ensure that we were comfortable; she also gave us helpful suggestions on places to see. The location couldn't be better; there are tons of thing to do within easy walking distance.
Lauren was a great host. Her apartment was beautiful, cosy, wonderfully decorated and was in an awesome location. She was very easy to get in touch with and accommodating. Could not have asked for more. We had a wonderful time in NOLA.
We had a great time in New Orleans, thanks to the perfect home base from Lauren. It's in between the French quarter and the Frenchman street, so whatever you want to do, you can do it by foot and enjoy the NOLA feeling!
We decided to take a quick trip down to nola for the weekend, not realizing that it was a very busy weekend with the start of mardi gras and an NBA event in town. Lauren was extremely responsive and gracious to let us stay on very short notice. Her place was beautiful. High celiings, antique doors, windows, fixtures. It was very clean and felt safe. Probably the best thing about her place is the location: sandwiched between the Maurigny neigborhood and the French quarter. So we felt like we have a great perch to explore both neighborhoods easily. Was a great spot for the mardi gras parades. I would stay there again. Lauren was a wonderful host.
We loved our stay and Lauren was a fantastic host. If you dig Frenchmen St. and the Marigny, but still like to wander the Vieux Carré, then you couldn't ask for a better location. And even though you'll likely spend the majority of your time out exploring, Lauren's place will make you feel like you're part the neighborhood and immersed in the rich history of this amazing city. Great place and a great stay that we wholeheartedly recommend.
Lauren has a fun, eclectic style that makes her apartment feel welcoming. Her communication was impeccable. Echoing what others have said: this is the perfect launching point for the French Quarter and Frenchman street. There is easy access to the streetcar line at the bottom of Esplanade (a 5-10 minute walk). A convenience store on the corner makes it easy to grab a pint of ice cream or a six pack. Plenty of restaurants around, including the delicious "Ruby Slipper" for breakfast/lunch a short walk away (and off the beaten path). We were surprised at how gritty New Orleans is. Plan your evening walks so you stay on well-lit streets.
Utterly beautiful..what a wonderful and creative soul...she was a member of our family and felt so natural xxxx
