Matthew waa a great host.. the place was adorable and perfect for my first time visit to Santa Cruz. He even gave us a bottle of wine to welcome us. I wish our stay in Santa Cruz was longer.. I wouldve loved to stay there longer. I'd definitely stay there for futeur visits though!
The property was exactly as described in the listing; if not better. Such a cute place; very comfortable and clean and roomy -- perfect for two adults. And you can't beat the hot tub in the privacy of the backyard. The host (Matthew) was always responsive and was very nice. And the location couldn't be better -- you're a five minute walk from the Boardwalk and literally across the street from Cowell's Beach and Steamer Lane. I will absolutely stay here again.
Hosts were terrific, place was lovely, wonderful location! Very relaxing and peaceful. Exactly as expected!
Matthew's place was so cute. The location was perfect, close to the beach and boardwalk. He even prepared wine for us. The hot tub in the backyard was KEY! It really helped with us unwinding and just relaxing overall. Great place, great stay, definitely recommended for SC!
The little apartment was charming and close to the boardwalk. It's basically a second floor guest house behind the main house and it contains all the essentials. A kitchen, dining area, living area, and bedroom with a full bathroom. There is also an attic area that the ladder leads to (the ceiling is very low so adults can't stand upright but perfect for little children). I would definitely recommend this to family and friends if they're visiting the Santa Cruz area.
We arrived late into Santa Cruz and Matthew left a message explaining where to park and how to check in. A fresh carton of half & half was in the fridge, a bottle of wine was on the table, and the coffee was ready to grind. The apartment was perfect. It was clean and comfortable. The description from Airbnb was completely accurate, and we could not have imagined a better location. The wharf and lighthouse were both walking distance. We would definitely stay at the Aloha Apartment again and would recommend it to anyone visiting Santa Cruz.
We had a fantastic time at the Aloha Apartment. Matthew, who was friendly and helpful, was there when we arrived and gave us the run-down of the apartment and area. The apartment is exactly like the pictures portrayed and really makes you feel like you are on a surf vacation. We were greeted with bottle of a very lovely wine as well as plenty of coffee and tea for our consuming. We even had jacuzzi towels and beach towels at our disposal! While the kitchen didn't provide us with every tool we need to make a meal, it was adequately stocked which allowed us to make a full plate. Everything is nice down the smallest detail. We loved walking through the neighborhood and were just a few steps away from the incredible Santa Cruz beach breaks. You will have a great time here.
Great place! The Aloha Apartment is clean, comfortable, private and well appointed. Its best feature, though, is the location. It's a short walk to great surf spots, West Cliff Drive, Lighthouse Beach, the Warf, the Boardwalk and just a short drive or bike ride to downtown. My favorite part was making coffee and walking to the beach to watch the sunrise. Beautiful spot. Matthew was very responsive and super easy to work with. This will definitely be our first choice the next time we visit Santa Cruz!
Absolutely loved the surf shack, rolling up on our bikes into the back unit of the house. Perfect location to west cliff. Quiet and comfortable. We got to go out and catch a few waves with the famous "Joe" (the owner of the house) on his 70th birthday. He and Matthew were incredibly accommodating and kind. We can't wait to return.
We loved our stay at the Aloha Apartment, so much so that it was difficult to leave! Matthew was very helpful from the moment that booked the reservation. He responded to our messages promptly, left a lovely bottle of wine for our arrival, as well as information on the space, how to work everything, and suggestions for activities/attractions in the area. The apartment was exactly as described and had everything that we needed -- most noticeably the pefect location. We enjoyed runs along West Cliff and sunsets over the ocean, walking to the boardwalk and Downtown. Parking was a breeze and we wanted for nothing! I hope to visit again soon.
Matthew was a great guest. They were neat, tidy, respectful and a good communicator.
Matthew's friend Joe stayed with us for a week while working on a book. He was a wonderful guest -- super easy, friendly, and a pleasure to have around.
He was also very understanding of the freezing Boston weather :).
Matthew and I have known each other for over 10 years. There is not enough room for me tell of how wonderful Matthew really is. Let me say that if you have the privilege of spending any time with him it will not be a time easily forgotten. He is a wonderful, genuine, honest, and loving person. I can say it has been the up most pleasure considering myself his friend. If you meet Matthew I know you will say the same!
