Rent rooms in a house
located in Tokyo, Japan. Short term , Long term OK.
A nice place.
A nice, clean and spacious room, and apartment as a whole. Location is good once you're used to the train system, about 20 minutes from Shinjuku. My only complaint is the wifi reception in the room was poor, but other than that I was very happy with my stay. A bargain for the price, really.
I went with a group of 5 and we were able to share 2 rooms with beds for each person. The entire house was clean and there were some instructions on how to use the computer and dispose of garbage because Japan has a specific system. Japan's wi-fi leaves much to be desired but the house had great service.
It is a bit far out from the main tourist areas so always make sure to leave an hour for transport back as most lines stop around midnight. That being said, the apartment is in a great transportation location.
The surrounding neighborhood is nice too. We enjoyed our stay here.
Kazuo's shared house is a wonderful place to spend a few days in Tokyo, or even some more. Be sure to appreciate the space that you'll have in this house, which you probably will not find in Tokyo otherwise.
pros: easy access, close to station, flexible check in/out, quiet area, not so many people in the house most of the time, close to cheap foods n convenience store
cons: pretty old, not as clean as in the pics, crowded during the weekend.
Kazuo was a good host - hospitable and accommodating. The place pretty much had everything you need. If privacy is a must for you, his place gives you just that.
We were a bit disappointed. One small WC and shower room for guests in seven rooms are not enough. Accordingly, both were not the cleanest you would expect. It was also not the nicest place in terms of furniture. Out room included a broken closet. Okay, there was also a working one, but broken things don't contribute to nice atmosphere. As a hostel, what it basically is, there are lovelier ones.
Kazuo was available after seven pm, a time we did not want to wait for after arriving at noon. In case of questions, there would have been phone contact only.
Kazuo is such a nice manager. The place is really close to Musashiseki Station from the Seibu Shinjuku line. You only walk for 2 minutes and there you go. You have also ramen shops around, many convenience stores, a bakery inside the station and a minimarket.
Inside the place is everything in order. My room had an aircon and this one came in really handy for these cold days I was getting near winter in Tokyo. You have a really nice shower with a digital panel controlling the water temperature where you can also take a bath. Internet access is really fast, every room has an ethernet cable. There's also WiFi at the living room so I suggest bringing a router with you or any device for internet sharing to your electronic gadgets and smartphone, because you could find low signal inside your room.
Maybe the only downside I found it's the bed that could be a little bit hard for you so I suggest bringing your own pillow if you're picky about this.
In general I found this place is really great and it's definitely a good option if you plan to visit Tokyo for holidays or business.
Great place as it's quiet in the day and gives us privacy. We stayed here for 8 nights and this is really value for money. Located really close to Musashi Seki station.
