Art & Lynette's place was exactly what we were looking for: a quiet, clean place with an incredible view. Our gracious hosts greeted us with their beautiful Newfoundlands, Ollie & Bella, whose careful guardianship guaranteed an undisturbed evening at a cottage with absolutely breath-taking views of the West Maui Mountains and central valley. Lynette's attention to detail in the cottage combined with the lovely grounds made this a place worth revisiting. After driving back from Hana on Maui's less-traveled backside, we pulled up late afternoon, ready for relaxation. We arrived just in time for a stunning sunset and a delicious meal at the local Kula Bistro. After a bottle of wine, we retired for the evening in one of the softest beds in the known universe. Lynette prepared yummy Paleo blueberry waffles and bacon whilst Art provided some interesting backstory. All in all, it was a most enjoyable stay! We definitely recommend this place for people seeking a different aspect of Maui - away from the resorts and tourists!
This was our first airbnb stay and we couldn't have felt more welcome in upcountry Maui! Art & Lynette are fabulous hosts & treat all of their guests like family. They share their island knowledge, recipes & lawn chairs, snorkels & beach chairs freely. The room was beautifully decorated and well appointed with a coffee maker, local coffee & water in fridge. The bed had high quality linens & a pillow top mattress which made it über comfortable. There were several DVD movies to watch on the large flat screen Tv in the credenza. The location is convenient to many local attractions including lavender farm, botanical garden, goat dairy & Haleakala. The garden gazebos & sitting spaces were lovely and afforded us beautiful views of the island & ocean.
Lynette is a fabulous chef & makes wonderful & healthy paleo breakfast such as pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, chorizo frittata & blueberry banana pancakes. However, they made no complaints in cooking something different for our vegetarian daughter. Art has extensive island knowledge about the local history & sights, together they make for a truly special stay. Ollie & Bella are their four legged family & since we are dog people this added an extra dimension of "hominess" to our stay. The Newfoundlands are gentle giants who care for and protect the home & occupants. . Jimmy buffet is the parrot - she kept our girls entertained. There is a desk & wifi for those who need to connect to the Internet. No convenience has been overlooked. We can't wait to return one day- Mahalo Lynette & Art -may you always receive the same loving treatment you provide to others.
The cottage was beautiful! Everything inside was lovely, and the view was amazing. Art and Lynnette were super nice as well.
You cannot imagine better hosts than they are!!!! They pampered and spoiled us when we arrived ill&they really looked after us and gave us helpful tips to treat our hurting ears and bad cough. Their breakfast is outstanding, ate the best omelett ever there&Lynette made her home-made granola, which was also the best we ever had. The cottage is beautifully furnished, with a breathtaking view, from the huge lanai and even from the cozy bed you can watch the awesome colourful Maui sunsets. Art&Lynette know everything about the island&will provide you with best places to eat&the nicest beaches&places to go all over the island. A peace of paradise, with hosts that really live aloha spirit!!! We need to come back, for sure!!!! Mahalo nui loa for everything, we hope to see you again!!!
This cottage is much nicer than the pictures reflect. It has a fantastic view from a private deck not just the pieces you see in the pictures. Big poofy pillow top beds were so comfy it was hard to get the family out of bed in the morning. Nice cool higher elevation is a welcome reprieve from the heat below. This is a nice quiet retreat you may not want to leave. Art and Lynnette are very warm and a wealth of local knowledge. Highly recommended without hesitation at every level.
This is such a special Maui property. The cottage is also new, nicely decorated, and pretty clean. Owners were great too! Highly recommend.
We started off our stay in Maui in this Oasis. Lynette and Art could not have been more hospitable. Trumped staying at any 5 star hotel ten fold, I enjoy the joy, warmth and personal touches that they have brought to their guest house. Full of ideas, aloha, and friendliness. So comfortable and the view was absolutely amazing. They spoiled us and I cannot recommend them any higher. I have traveled a lot in the last twenty years and this was one of the best experiences. First time I have used Airbb because I am overly cautious and this could not have been safer. I loved the bed, animals, tub and gardens. SO NICE and accommodating. Mahalo!!!
This was one of the best, most peaceful nights I have ever had while traveling. The cottage is immaculate, with one of the most beautiful views on Maui. The Terrys are incredibly welcoming, and their dogs are some of the most beautiful I have ever had the pleasure of petting. Also, Lynnette makes some of the most delicious muffins I have ever had, which just so happen to be paleo (using almond flower). Art was very helpful with directions and recommendations, and I couldn't recommend this place any more highly. Thank you Art and Lynnette, hopefully I will be back in the future.
We really enjoyed staying at this beautiful place. Our cottage studio was spacious and lovely decorated. The private lanai overlooking the hills to the ocean welcomes you to enjoy the coffee or wine in the evening outside.
Art and Lynnette couldn't be more perfect hosts. Lynnette serves a very delicious breakfast and even took care of vegetarian needs.
Overall it was our best airbnb experience so far!
I am almost hesitant to provide a review as my sister and I wanted to keep this amazing place to ourselves! ;) However, it would be the least my sister and I could do as they were SPECTACULAR!!!!!!
So, Maui was the second stop on trip through the Hawaiian islands. When reached their house my sister and I were welcomed as if we were a friends of the family. We stayed for three days and were given a key to the cottage so we could come and leave as we pleased. Also, every single morning we were made breakfast and it was 5 star, where the coffee flow-ith-ed freely and the food was so good that I could not stop myself to second and even third helpings! They also had a fresh set of towels for our beach trips and lent their snorkling gear to us. They were just so awesome
When my sister and I are to ever head back to Maui, we would definitely stay with them again. However, if they were booked, we would be sure to swing by and say hello again as they were so awesome
