Art and Lynnette are wonderful hosts! Right from when we booked the place, communication was prompt and efficient. Lynnette would respond to my elaborate questions about Kula in less than 30 minutes! Talk about effective communication. She's the queen at it! Our experience at their BnB was amazing right from the start. Their property as well as the views are breathtaking. Pictures really don't do them justice. Lynnette is definitely a domestic goddess. Her breakfasts are to die for. Homemade, fresh, and very beautifully presented. Art gave us a lot of tips on where to go, what to do, and where to eat. You can tell that they make an awesome team! On our second night there, we decided to grill on our lanai to watch the gorgeous sunset. There's a BBQ on the lanai for guests' use. Art and Lynnette were so gracious in letting us their utensils, cooking spices, and dinnerware. All in all, Art and Lynnette truly embody the spirit of Aloha and we felt just like family living with them. We will definitely make it a point to visit them again next time we're on Maui. Thank you for this beautiful upcountry experience, Art and Lynnette! We truly appreciate everything.
Response from Art And Lynnette:
Thank you for your kind words. So grateful that you had an enjoyable stay!
We are looking forward to your next visit .
With much Aloha,

This was by far the best place we have stayed at. Staying in big names hotels just doesn't come close to the experience you will have staying with Art and Lynette.
From the moment I arrived, the place was exactly as pictured, extremely well kept and I had one of their majestic dogs to greet me as well.
They are the most warm and friendly couple I have met. I basically lived off only their recommendations for places to see and things to do and everyone lived up to what they said.
Lynette had legendary reviews online about her cooking and I can only add to it by saying she is an amazing cook. Her breakfasts were so unique, healthy and she made it a point to never repeat.
The cottage itself is extremely well kept, clean, beautifully decorated with every essential you can think of. The views from the patio are postcard perfect and every day was just a pleasure being with them. They went out of their way to help by providing beach chairs, umbrellas and always made it a point to check in to make sure everything was fine.
I would and have already recommended this place to several of my friends who want to visit Maui and guarantee that any one will have an amazing experience with them.
Response from Art And Lynnette:
Thanks you guys.
So glad you had a great time! We hope to see you again in the future.
Ollie and Bella send their love as well!
With much Aloha,

I'm sorry not to reply you sooner! Art and Lynnette was very kindhearted hosts. Staying their very lovely place was my first and best days in Maui. I really love their beautiful cottage, and I tend to stay there enjoying beautiful view of both sides of the shores. Kula might not be familiar with tourists, but I enjoy both ocean side and highland feeling. Within 30 mins, you can go to Paia to swirl in the wave or to get nice organic local products in Mana Mart or go to the airport. Within 3 mins, you can go to O'o farm (reservation is must) to educate yourself and enjoy fancy lunch by their chef on-site. The room itself was my favorite. I wish I could decorate like that. The canopy-covered bed was fancy and cozy. The full bathroom has a big glass window (but not worry for being seen) with morning beautiful light or starry sky. There are nice Keurig coffee machine and a small fridge, sets of utensils. I had a breakfast everyday on the lanai. Lynnette made a delicious breakfast everyday. Again, they were really thoughtful hosts. When my phone charger was broken, they let me use theirs. They often offer me to use their tools. Around Kula, it was a little bit chilly, and they let me borrow their warm jacket when I go to the top of mountain. Always helpful. I wish I could go back there very soon! Thank you again! Sending a warm hug to your beautiful family and dogs.
Art and Lynette is the best host ever! Everything was really wonderful. Their house has the best view in Hawaii, and they are just really nice kind people. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed staying at their house. I've stayed at many Airbnb listings because I work at Airbnb, and this one has to be the best.
Breakfast is unbelievably good too.
We stayed in the larger room/suite of the cottage of Art & Lynette's wonderfully serene property with a sweeping view over Maalaea bay. I love the way Lynette has furnished and decorated the cottage; it is also very clean and comfortable with all the mod-cons except for air con which you don't need at this elevation! We could not have wished for a nice place to stay.
The location feels remote but is actually very central and convenient to explore the Island - Haleakala crater in particular (very convenient to catch that sunrise!). The Botanical Garden nearby is within walking distance and well worth the visit. Art & Lynette are full of knowledge of the island and happy to share advice if needed!
Lynette is now caring for a grandaughter and therefore left us a hamper of delicious local products for breakfast, which actually suited our busy schedule perfectly - although from the other reviews it sounded like we missed out :).
We would have happily stayed longer to enjoy the cosy romantic cottage and get to know our hosts some more as they were just lovely.
This was our first Airbnb experience and we were very impressed. The cottage was beautifully decorated, modern, and clean and Art and Lynnette were amazing hosts and treated us as one of the family. Art lent us whatever water equipment that we may need for our days at the beach. We were very comfortable and enjoyed our conversations with the hosts. The cottage is a bit inland, which means we were a bit farther from the beach (fine for us since we only went once) but much closer to the Road to Hana and Haleakala which were the major things we wanted to do.
Art and Lynnette are super accommodating and the plantation cottage suite is incredibly comfortable. I felt completely at home, and give Art and Lynnette a 5-star rating! The view is spectacular, the Upcountry Vibe is peaceful and serene, yet the location is quite central to anything you want to do in Upcountry and beyond. Even the drive to surf Hookipa is only 25 minutes. Art let me borrow his sea kayaks and I was able to paddle out and hang with over a dozen sea turtles, including the largest I have ever seen - longer than a kayak with a shell the size of a patio table! A great experience all around.
Art and Lynnette are awesome hosts. Make sure you talk to Art, as he knows every little unknown tips and tricks for getting around and seeing things. Lynnette is an excellent cook, I can honestly say that i had the best breakfast in all my stay in Hawaii at her dinning table, her pumpkin granola is out of this world! The Cottage is exactly how it is shown in the pictures. Great location if you want to experience other things besides the beach; everything is a 20-30 mint drive from the cottage. On your way there make sure you stop at the Strawberry farm. When you first arrive their 2 beautiful dogs will come out to greet you (don't be scared by the size, they are big teddy bears). Cottage is very comfortable and just the right size. There is hot water! (a plus for me); there is no A/C but believe me is NOT needed, we even closed the windows because it got cold for us. Room is equipped with coffee machine, small refrigerator, WiFi, TV and DVD. Lynnette provided travel size toiletries in case we forgot something. Beach towel and beach chairs were provided also. It has an amazing view of the Country and the beach! If you get up early (3:30 am) you can do the Haleakala Sunrise on your own (amazing!!) Art and Lynnette were always available for us, very friendly and knowledgeable of the island must do's and places to eat! They were respectful of our time and privacy. Lynnette provided us with a Maui's must see book that helped us a lot when we decided to do the Road to Hanna. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone and I would certainly stay again if I ever go back to Maui. NOTE: It is perfect for couples not too much space for kids.
WOW. Hospitality (of the Scottish variety, I learned), ambiance, location, BREAKFAST -- these folks have a five-star operation going. I had a wonderful time staying at Art and Lynette's cottage, "talking story" with them, and enjoying Lynette's delicious and healthy breakfasts. So much so that I extended my stay by another day! My partner and I came to their cottage after roughing it at a campsite and had a wonderful night's sleep in the luxurious canopy bed. The cottage is gorgeous and artfully crafted by Art (pun intended). The bathroom window opens up into a jungle vista. The deck has a sweeping view of the island. The property is beautifully landscaped. It is quiet, peaceful, restorative. Everything a trip to Maui should be. It really is like receiving a five-star experience, without the other guests to bother you. Art and Lynette were gracious enough to let us borrow their snorkeling equipment, and they even provide you with beach towels! We had a wonderful time with these lovely folks and will return when we come back to Maui!
