Paola's flat was exactly as pictured. It is spacious, clean, private, and the perfect place to come back to after a busy day. The location is ideal; walking distance to much and easy to hail a cab in the neighbourhood.
Paola was in contact with me leading up to my trip and checking in with me during my stay. A very attentive host. Thank you Paola.
Veramente molto consigliato!
Perfect location. Lot of space in the appsrtment. Poor kitchen with dirty porcelain, lack of plates, cups and so on. Not a opportunity for home cooking.
The shower was dirty, and almost no water came out of the water hose.
The appartment did not live ip to out expectations, but the location outweigh the bad things
Good communication with host and she met us on time. Good size apartment in excellent location for visiting Rome. We walked everywhere; didn't need public transportation. Room was clean and mini-kitchen was sufficient for our meals.
Top location! It was a pleasure to stay at Paola's apartment located 5 minute any-wich-way to every sight you are looking for.
You can chill in ACed apartment or go hit Piazza Navona just behind the block.
Communication with Paola was ease and super quick, very flexible with late flight as well.
I would definetely come back!
Never met the host, as we were received by some assistant of hers who unfortunately doesn't speak any English. She was trying to be helpful but the language barrier basically makes it impossible. The neighborhood by the spanish steps is great, though.
The place doesn't have wifi, so we have to go down to a TIM store to get data plans, no big deal but it could have been a much better experience had we have wifi. Fridge doesn't work, no big deal, after a jug of spoiled milk you'll learn to eat cereals with water. Bath is small, no big deal, just don't try to bend down ;-).
My major problem is with the bed, which consists of two twin mattresses on separate boxes&bed frames. This usually is fine but the bed frames actually have wheels/casket sockets that slide them apart from each other during the night, making it extremely uncomfortable to sleep as a couple (well, even for nonsexual movements like huddles ;-). This is really a dealbreaker for me, unfortunately.
Owner was late in meeting us by almost an hour, with no apology or explanation. Tried to call for 1/2 hour when we arrived, but owner did not pick up. Apartment is in an old building. Shower head and door broken, shower tile old and rusted near the bottom. Kitchen had some pans to use for cooking, a fridge and some plates/utensils. Unfortunately, on the first night there we saw a giant unpleasant bug in the apartment. The pros are that the apartment is very well located, near Piazza Navona and air conditioned.
This was such a wonderful apartment. It's very comfortable for two people, and it's in a perfect location. Though it is maybe 400 yards from the Spanish Steps, it is remarkably quiet at night.
Paola was welcoming and so helpful with our many questions about Rome.
I would recommend this apartment to anyone traveling to Rome.
I had a wonderful week-long stay at Paola's. It was easy to book even just a week out, and she helped arrange a cab from the airport. The place is quiet and has good air conditioning (important in the hot summer) and was cleaned each day. The facilities are nice. A 10 min walk from the Coliseum, and the metro A line literally on the corner. Not as 'hopping' a neighborhood as near the Parthenon, but everything in Rome is basically within waking distance so no matter. Couldn't ask for more!
