This was a wonderful weekend getaway! We positively loved the peace and tranquility! The Place was very nice and very private. One word to the wise, this is up a fairly steep set of stairs. It is over the garage. If you have any issue with that, this is not for you. We had no problem with it, so loved our weekend.
Hi James! Sorry about the firestarter issues. I will make sure those pieces of firestarter logs are always in there. Thanks for the heads up!
Very charming ranch in an excellent quiet and beautiful location! Great room, tastefully decorated and clean. Excellent, comfortable beds. In the morning you can walk few minutes to the working ranch and watch animals, we got to see newly born goats. Great and restful stay!
Erin was great! We had a nice stay. It's a really lovely log cabin and the ranch grounds (and animals) are awesome. We'll definitely recommend.
We absolutely loved this place. Peaceful, beautiful surroundings, quirky and cosy accommodation. Would go back in an instant.
What a wonderful Valentine's day staying at the Country Barn! We usually stay in the room connected to the main house, so this was our first time in the barn. We had 2 other friends with us and they were so impressed with the place! It really is such a treat for us whenever we visit Lompoc, to stay at one of Erin's accommodations. The barn is absolutely stunning and definitely made us feel welcomed. We had Gonsalez as our point of contact and he was always available and very helpful when we had any questions or what not. Thank you Erin for everything! We WILL be back soon :)
Erin made us feel like we were at our home away from home. Everything in the description was exactly the way we imagined it. The ranch is a very welcoming place that is full of peace. The barn has so much charm and style. It is incredibly warm and inviting with all its ambience. The animals are lovely and kind. It is a place where you can shut off and just be. AND the ping pong table was such a delightful addition!!!! We will be returning to this special getaway again and again.
The cabin was beautiful and even better than the pictures. It was a perfect weekend out of the city to spend time around some animals, by a fire, and near wine country. Definitely hope to return; maybe even to stay in the adjacent main house.
Barn located on a more private place, the environment is very pleasant, slightly less alone facilities, accommodation for 12 people who we did a bit more crowded, but still is a very exciting experience.
I've had some pretty great experiences renting through airbnb, but Erin's ranch was probably the most relaxing and beautiful spot I've been to so far. I rented it for a guy's weekend. We were able to easily hit Figueroa Mountain Brewery in Buellton and also Dierberg Vineyard in Lompoc, but I can honestly say that the weekend would have been a total success if we'd never left the barn.
The central living area has two large garage doors at either end that can be opened, creating a very indoor-outdoor feel. It lets you take in the incredible scenery in this area, even if you are sitting on the couch watching football on the gigantic HDTV (guilty). The central area is really spacious- we even set up a bean bag toss game (in addition to the ping-pong table already in place.) We had a lot of fun.
The kitchen had everything you would need, and the tankless water heater is a nice feature for large groups. The bedroom area could sleep a family of four or three adults. The total number of real beds in the barn is 5, though. We also used one of the air mattresses provided- everyone was comfortable. Erin's installed insulation in the barn and space heaters were provided. Once we closed the door at night, the entire place stayed warm (in February).
If you're renting for a large group (5+), think of this place as the best "glamping" experience you've ever had. Alternately, you could rent this for a couple or a family of four or five and it's more of a deluxe loft rental. The space is very versatile and very user friendly. Super clean and very well-maintained.
I never met Erin, but she was responsive to texts and messages; very friendly and easy-going. Also- Gonzalo, the ranch hand on the property, was also available, if needed, but nothing ever came up. The only problem was the wifi. I'd seen this on previous posts, so I brought a data cable for my laptop and got a connection that way. I also was able to get a cell signal intermittently. I talked to Erin about this and it seems she is just having a lot of trouble getting a reliable service provider- this is a very rural area, really. It was also nice to unplug and limit distractions during the trip. So, not a big deal for us.
I'm very much looking forward to coming back; next time probably with my family. My daughter will love the various animals we saw around the ranch including sheep, horses, and llamas. Cannot wait. Thanks, Erin!
Hi Scott. Just wanted to get back and let you know I fixed the wifi! Long story, but all good now!
Hidden Canyon Ranch is the perfect place to relax and get away from it all. The Guest Quarters are quaint, cozy, quiet, large and airy. Erin, the owner will make you feel like family. Not to mention she is a great cook.
You can look out your window to see the beautiful rolling hills, a llama or two, chickens and goats. The horse stable is further down the path and is a delight. You will feel as if you left the hectic world behind! It's a MUST STAY!
Erin has been a friend for the past several years. She has hosted our family and friends as well as the entire cross country team that my husband coaches. She has always been nothing but gracious, helpful, easy going, and, most importantly, fun! My children love getting up in the mornings with her to check the chicken's eggs, see what's new in the garden, or take a walk up to say hello to the horses. She is always happy to take me to a winery or point out the best place for lunch in Solvang. The boys on the cross country team loved learning a thing or two about ranch living and the week at Erin's was always a highlight for the year. The ranch is in the most peaceful serene area with plenty of things to do....or not....because, I have to say, that one of my favorite things was just sitting in the front porch rocking chair early in the morning and enjoying a cup of coffee while watching a family of deer grazing or the goats and sheep getting their morning meal. I would highly recommend the ranch as a wonderful and inviting place for a getaway or event!
