We have lived in volcano Hawaii for 32 years. We have been in the vacation and bnb Business for 30 years.
My husband and I decided to come to Hawaii for our Honeymoon. We stayed here for a few days to explore Volcanoes NP. What a treat! You can't get any closer to the park for the price, and we loved that it was quiet and peaceful and in it's own little space. The cave and the garden are a nice touch. The house is a lot bigger than the photos. It is very clean, and fully stocked with linens, dishes and cooking utensils. Loved the fresh flowers! It was rainy and misty those few days, but that didn't stop us from hiking about 14 miles in a day! There's just so much to see! The hot tub and wood burning stove were a perfect way to end the day. The house can get a bit chilly, so take advantage of the stove. It provides a nice ambience too! No problems at all with internet or t.v. Oh! If you're there on a Sunday, make sure to visit the farmers market! Get there really early, as they sell out quickly. Way cheaper to stock up there than the general store. The Thai place is very good as well. Overall we had an amazing time and hope to be back some day. Brenda was very easy to contact and very friendly. We'd definitely book with them again!
I would recommend this cabin to anyone! It was amazing and clean and very enjoyable. My husband and I were in Hawai'i for our 20th wedding anniversary and enjoyed staying in this nice, clean and modern house. It is in the rain forest, so it was a little foggy and rainy but mostly at night. During the two days we were there the sun came out for both days and made our stay very warm and comfortable. We drove around the island, visited the volcano and whale watched from the northern most point of the island. The house was warm and cozy to come back to each night. It was clean, big enough for a family but cozy too for the two of us. We enjoyed the hot tub and the nice tv at night. Thank you for such a romantic stay.
Beautiful spacious and comfortable house. Very isolated (a few miles from Volcano Village) and peaceful in the middle of a forest. The lava tube makes it even better. Wish we could have stayed longer.
My husband and I stayed at Bamboo View Cottage in mid February, 2014. The overall experience was great. The cottage is located about 10 min drive from the Volcano National Park and about 30-40 min from the Hilo Airport. We did grocery shopping in Hilo because there are no real grocery stores in the neighborhood. The kitchen is well equipped.
The only downside to us was too soft mattress in the cottage and we could not get good night sleep for the first night. Overall it is an excellent value for the price.
A surprisingly great place to stay in Volcano. The approach down a dirt road was slightly intimidating, but the place itself is superb.
Nicely decorated, clean, satellite TV & internet, clean & operational hot tub, short walk down paved (!) walkway to secret cave. We had dinner at the Volcano lodge and easily drove back and forth. Finished off the evening in the hot tub on the lanai. Made breakfast in the fully appointed kitchen, ate it on the lanai.
All round excellent. I have already recommended this place to friends and family.
Everything was as expected and the house was easy to find. The hot tub was a lovely bonus and the cave was very cool. Great stay!
We drove in late in the evening, very dark outside so we didn't really have any idea of the surroundings in which we were staying. Thankfully, Brenda left the lights on for us so we found the adorable green bungalow fairly easily. It's sweet and clean with comfortable beds, everything you need for cooking in the kitchen, lots of linens and a perfect lanai. When morning came we were ASTOUNDED by the beauty of the surroundings. My 19 & 17 year old kids loved it and snorkeled across the street daily. This was exactly the Hawaii we were looking for - rural, few people, calm, and near the ocean.
Paradise Found is great for travelers who want to take a deep breath and enjoy the environment.
This is one of the nicest places we have stayed! Privately tucked into the rainforest an easy drive from the park, the cottage was comfortable and very well outfitted. Wifi worked!
We saw many of the most famous Hawaiian birds: the birds and bird songs were amazing.
I am recommending this place to all my friends!
My husband and I stayed here for three nights over the Christmas holiday for a belated honeymoon. Out of the three places we stayed around the island, this cottage was our favorite and we felt it was an excellent value for what we got. The home is beautifully crafted and well cared for, and Brenda provides many special touches for a comfortable stay. The hot tub in the forest and the cozy wood stove were my favorites parts. And watching movies on HBO demand is nice for rainy nights in. A perfect place for exploring Volcanoes National Park and surrounding Puno or Hilo sights. You won't be disappointed!
Absolutely great place - would always come back - a gem!
