Great place! It's in a converted warehouse so the vibe is very urban and cool. Check in and out was a breeze. It was equipped with everything I needed. Chris was friendly and prompt with replies when I had questions. I appreciated all the SMS communication--made things easy! Great water pressure in the shower too :)
Perfect location for conference attendees. Very near great restaurants: Finca, just below and attached to the condo, has the world's best churros!! And Zest, just a few blocks away has a Portlandia-like menu and hands down best libations made from fresh, local ingredients; I had the best bowl of summer squash curry, EVER! The owner/head chef was super friendly and walked around the dinning area chatting with his patrons.
There is a super impressive shopping center (City Creek Center) within walking distance that is well worth the visit even if you're only window shopping. If you are not familiar with "city" living, you may be surprised by the large "pan-handling" population. The condo is located adjacent to low-income housing (I heard the city designated a lot of the empty real estate for HUD housing after the Olympics.. not sure if this is true). We never felt threatened and w did a few jogs through the city streets without a hitch. Gated, off-street parking came in very handy as we had a car for driving to the ski hills.
Condo was a little smaller than expected but cozy and relaxing. Not ideal handicap access; especially into the jet tub (deep set; awkward in/out). Up-to-date appliances (and washer/dryer in condo). Flat screen TV with lots of channels. Host was super easy to get in touch with (via text) for a couple small glitches (ran out of TP and neighbors were a little loud one night). A nice little touch was the spa robes and slippers.
Overall, thumb's up!
Honestly, I loved this place. My girlfriend and I shared our first anniversary here and it was so lovely. We were looking for a place downtown and I wanted a NYC vibe to my room and it was perfect. The TV was great, and easy to use. We used his kitchen every night to cook and it was so much fun having everything we needed all in one place. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun downtown experience. A big thank you to Chris, and a great recommendation to his condo. A+
This is a great apartment with a super nice large and light living space. It's really well located for events at Salt Palace. I felt very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
We loved this condo! It looked great online but even better in person. The building is very well located and our unit was spacious and clean. Chris was a great host. He was there to welcome us as we arrived and very quick to respond when we had a couple questions. You could tell that making sure his guests were comfortable was top priority. We are looking forward to staying again next year!
This was a nice apartment and Chris answered my questions immediately. I had a nice stay in SLC. This condo is a good alternative to a hotel
I highly recommend both the host Chris and this downtown loft. Chris was very helpful as needed throughout the three day stay. Check in and check out was clear and simple. The loft is trendy, has cool furniture and well decorated. Location is convenient for downtown activities and also easy drive to the ski resorts.
We had a very pleasant stay in this downtown loft. It was in the perfect location for us (near the Salt Palace), and was much less expensive than an equivalent hotel room would have been.
Although we didn't prepare much food (mainly ate/reheated takeout food), the kitchen area was very nice and had a refrigerator, microwave, toaster, range/oven, dishwasher, and cupboards stocked with dishes. We could have conveniently prepared all our meals at the loft, had we not ordered out as much.
Having a spacious living room separate from the bedroom was another major plus. We were able to put our daughter to sleep behind a closed door while we stayed up to watch TV and work on a laptop in the living room.
One of the biggest upsides for us (on one of the busiest weekends of the year) was having easy access to all of downtown and no parking worries. We left our car at the condo in the gated lot, and walked around downtown on foot. It is also very close to a trax station (although we never needed to go anywhere by light rail). Chris even allowed us to leave the car in the lot for several hours after we checked out, since nobody had booked the room for the following night.
Overall we had a great experience. Checking in and out was simple, Chris gave us all the instructions we needed, and responded quickly to our questions. I would stay in this loft again or recommend it to anyone else looking for a convenient place to stay downtown.
This beautiful little loft was perfect! I was in town for my company's event and the conference center was an easy 2 block walk straight up the street, so the convenience can't be beat! The loft itself is very comfortable and stocked with what any biz traveler needs - TV, lots of outlets, wireless, coffee maker, iron. It's very clean and well-maintained, and actually quite spacious. The bathtub/shower situation is a bit awkward, but not a huge issue. There was a full kitchen, but I didn't really use it beyond making coffee and slicing up fruit. Having a refrigerator was great though! I would definitely recommend this listing. It was way better than a sterile hotel room.
Chris was very responsive and friendly throughout the whole process. He responded to my request immediately and sent me useful info and easy directions. I actually arrived several hour earlier than planned, and Chris was very very accommodating about that. I couldn't have asked for a better host.
There's a fantastic little restaurant around the corner called Pallet that serves yummy AND inventive food. The bartenders there are artists and make amazing drinks. Definitely check it out, but make reservations - it's cozy and fills up quickly.
