If you are looking for a unique and not luxury experience out in the nature, this place is exactly the right place to go! I had a wonderful time in Las Terrenas with lovely people and beautiful animals around. Dominic and Helena were always friendly and willing to help if i needed anything. If i had the chance to come back some day, i definitely would!
Helena and Dominic are friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They gave great advice on amazing places to explore in the area. The bungalow was perfectly rustic and peaceful. It was a great experience and I would recommend Jurassic Park to anyone traveling to the Dominican Republic.
Helena and Dominic were awesome hosts. They don't treat you like guests but like old friends they haven't seen in awhile. Helena and Dominic helped us find lots of hidden beaches and set us up to go on a tour horse backing to El Limon (email hidden)e place we stayed in is truly a hidden gem in the Dominican Republic. I have been in The DR for almost a year now and this was by far my favorite place to visit. The green jungle, fireflies, warm people, and Palm tree forests are forever etched in my mind. I really feel like I could see every star in the universe here......Helena even taught my friend how to Bachata and now he's a world class dancer. (Sort of). I hope I can revisit this tropical paradise in the future. People on this part of the peninsula seem to be the friendliest individually minded people I have met here. Which is saying a lot because Dominicans are really already very friendly people.
Hope to return again,
Beyoung, Nicholas, and Jacobo
What an amazing place! I had a really wonderful and unique experience staying here. Dominic and Helena were incredibly kind and helpful. Traveling on my own I wasn't sure what to expect, but it turned out to be a very warm and welcoming environment. The AirBnB is secluded in a lush area just outside of town and that, in turn, gives that place a very magical ambiance. Getting to Las Terrenas, the main town, is super easy and allows you really see the local culture. I felt very safe there. The people are open and kind. If you're looking for an off-the-beaten path experience to expand your spirit and not typical resort pandering, I couldn't recommend a better place to stay. I will be sure to return again!
It was a pleasure to stay in bungalow I - very nice and romantic location. Top: Helena and Dominic were very nice and helpful , Housing, Swimming pool, trampoline, trips you can organize via Jurassic Park, to hike the hill behind the area - We really enjoyed it! Thank you!!
Awesome!! Me and my friend planned to stay at Jurassic park for 3 nights and it ended up with the whole vacation, 10 days. The bungalow is so nice, the view and environment is amazing and Helena and Dominic is just perfect hosts. They help with everything, suggest fantastic tours and give brilliant recommendations. I'll stay here for a while and do some surfing, study Spanish and relax. Best place!!
We loved to stay by Helena and Dominic! The location of the Jurassic Park is wonderful. You can enjoy the wild nature with free Wi-Fi. ;) The most beautiful beaches are only 5 minutes by car. You can go to different excursions, for example to ride and to swim in the highest waterfall in El Limon. Helena provides you with all possible information.
We plan to come back and to stay more than few days! Thanks a lot, dear Helena and Dominic! Good luck and hope see you soon!
So wonderful!! What a lovely place to stay. We spent 4 nights there about 2 weeks ago and it was definitely our favorite stay during our 16 day trip.
Dominic was not out of town but Helena was a fantastic host on her own. She was super inviting, friendly and oh so helpful with her suggestions of sites to see and things to do. The bungalow itself was super homey and surprisingly large. The grounds are fun and a great place to let your adventurous side go.
As far as being close to downtown Las Terrenas and the beaches you'll definitely need to take a motoconcho, which is a motorcycle taxi, or rent a scooter or moto yourself. It's about a 15min ride to downtown which isn't bad and the ride's part of the experience. All in all JP, Las Terrenas and the surrounding beaches and activities are worth the trip.
You'll be left speechless and in awe at this place. The rooms were perfect little studios, well equipped with everything you need to relax and sink into the nature that surrounds the entire place. Wonderful wildlife (rhinoceros iguanas, the smallest humming birds, lizards/geckos) all around with fireflies at night to lead you back to your room. The hammocks make a great rest after a long day of exploring with calming winds shaking the tall palms above. The very best part of this entire place is Dominic, Helena and the happy and polite children (plus ol' Grumpy- the watch dog). Their smiles matched their inviting, humble and kind personalities and they very knowledgeable about what to do, when to do it, where to go, how to get there. I highly recommend this place for the self-proclaimed adventurers, backpackers, and for anyone who would like to immerse themselves, even for just one night, in nature and local life... you will learn a lot about the DR here, you will learn a lot about yourself. Thank you Dominic and Helena!
Great place to stay in Las Terrenas. I booked for two nights, ended up staying four nights.
The hosts are exceedingly gracious, helpful, and caring. Jurassic Park is in a nice jungle area about 10 minutes from the beach, as such it is a bit challenging to find, I advise using GPS coordinates. Helena and Dominic are creating a sustainable way of interacting with the environment and the community, this means chickens/roosters roaming around, kids playing when they aren't at school, no TV (good WiFi though), spring fed water supply, solar electric, etc.
I recommend if you are looking for sustainability, community and small. Look elsewhere if you want inclusive and beachside.
