I work as a writer and filmmaker, and seem to not stay in one place too long.
Phil's place was just what we needed. It's in a great location and the house is very cute. We were able to cook dinner and relax for the evening. We would definitely come back.
Super cute and comfortable house between two phenomenal areas. I would definitely stay here again. Phil was a gracious and accommodating host and his house was very charming. It is an older house, but it was warm and cozy and well furnished. I really enjoyed lounging on the couch in the morning listening to music, and drinking delicious pour-over coffee.
The house is located 2 blocks from one great neighborhood and about 5 blocks from another great area. I walked between the two neighborhoods by myself at night and felt safe doing so. The house next door is not in great repair, but the majority of the homes in the area are well-kept.
We spent a nice cozy weekend at Phil's cabin. Had a fire and enjoyed the stay. Drive to and from Bend is quick and no problem. The cabin has very basic amenities, but we didn't lack for anything. we'd visit again. Thanks Phil
Great rustic space, and location is just about perfect - trails and river are literally out the back door. However, I'm primarily giving this place 3/5 stars for lack of cleanliness. Perhaps it was just an off night, but neither set of bed linens were clean. I love rustic or "cabin elegant" as described, but that doesn't mean one has to sacrifice cleanliness.
Great house - excellent location! Very comfortable bed, and cool old house. Everything in the kitchen which we needed.
Great Cabin!!! Lots of natural light, rustic amenities. Beautiful, peaceful property! Thanks Phil!!!
My husband and I had a lovely weekend at Phil's cabin, it was so warm and cozy! We had a great time; cooking, making a fire, relaxing, reading and even playing some board games. It is certainly a retreat for homebodies and those who want to be close to Mt. Bachlor. Bend is very close for those who want to go to town and explore, but staying inside and hiking close to the cabin was really the draw for us.
My boyfriend and I are in a long distance relationship and were looking to spend the day together in Portland. Phil's place served as a home base for us and ended up being where we spent the entire day together as my boyfriend got sick. The bed felt like home and having New Season's close for food and homeopathic remedies was a wonderful convenience. For the price, Phil's place is a steal. This place represents Portland well!
We really enjoyed our 6-night stay over Christmas. A cozy little cabin, rustic with modern touches. About 10 minutes to Sunriver and 25 minutes to Bend. Two full size beds in main room + a cool loft that could probably sleep another couple (or a few kids). We used the wood stove every night and really enjoyed that- it got the place super toasty. The cabin is on a nice, large lot that backs up to national forest land, so plenty of firewood if you're up for chopping! (there's an axe and saw) Kitchen and bathroom were just fine: bathroom gets super warm and the kitchen had plenty of room and was pretty well outfitted. For $75 per night, this place is a GREAT value; we would certainly return. Only possible negative is that the full size beds are tucked into little alcoves, so they're pretty tight for sleeping two: be prepared to snuggle! Oh, and bring ice or ice cube trays if you want to make mixed drinks. Lastly, Phil was quick to respond with any questions we had, which was much appreciated.
We've stayed at Phil's place twice now. Once in the summer and again in December. Both times were great. Just exactly what my husband and I need when we visit from Seattle. The dog fits right in and the neighborhood is lively at night but a quiet escape from the city. The short walk to Mississippi ave will bring you to the BEST tacos you will ever have in your life.
Nice guy, glad to have him.
Phil is a very nice guy! Easy guest.
Phil was a welcome guest, clean and easy.
