My 23 year old daughter and I were on a whirlwind 5-day sight-seeing (and friend visit) to New York City.
The apartment was immaculate, light and airy (unobstructed windows in each room), and tastefully furnished in a much appreciated uncluttered manner. Though only having 1 bedroom, the well separated living room provided 2 distinct sleeping areas. Overall, it had a warm pleasant vibe that was always nice to come home to after a long day of rushing about.
Gabrielle was a excellent host from start to finish. She was responsive at all times, provided a welcoming and informative initial orientation (by proxy), and checked with us several times during our stay to be sure everything was going well. She genuinely seemed to care about our stay.
With our focus on Manhattan, the Brooklyn location required some planning and about 10 - 15 minutes walk to subway stops and then perhaps 20 - 30 minute into lower Manhattan. We did enjoy exploring the local neighborhoods and proximity to Brooklyn Museum and Gardens and found several restaurants and coffee shops we liked, within 15-20 minutes walk.
We would certainly recommend this as a very pleasant and economical place to stay, just a bit away from the action.
My husband and I had a good stay at Gabrielle's apartment. She was super attentive and helpful any time we needed anything. Her artistic style sense is definitely evident in the tasteful decor around her space. The only downside was that her apartment is several blocks from the nearest subway station, which was a little difficult for traveling with an infant and getting anywhere took much longer than we expected.
The apartment was very nice and clean, just like we expected. Gabrielle was very helpful throughout the week. She was there to give us the keys, otherwise we kept in touch by text messages. She always replied immediately.
Bed and futon could accommodate easily two people in each but the couch wasn´t that good for sleeping. I would say the apartment is suitable for four people.
There´s a 10-15 minute walk to subway station and the ride to southern parts of Manhattan would take about 30 minutes.
The knob of her front door lock was left in my hand a couple of times. Luckily we (email hidden) knife with a screwdriver with us. Otherwise we would not got in. The knob would need a repair.
We really enjoyed staying in Gabrielles lovely appartement. it was very light and comfortable. Gabrielle was flexibel when our flight was cancelled and we could not arrive at the appointed time. The neighbourhood was interesting, with diversity in atmosphere from one street to the next.
Gabrielle's cozy apartment was just like on the pictures : nice, neat and welcoming. The four of us were fond of the beautiful paintings on the walls. It was perfect for our girls getaway. It was close to the subway, and we felt safe walking late in the neighbourhood. Gabrielle herself was such a sweet and helpful host. We thank her for contributing to make our first time in NYC unforgettable. We'll come back for sure. Merci beaucoup Gabrielle
Gabrielle is a perfect hôte, we had no difficulty reaching her and have been received in good conditions. She's very helpful and has a very nice appartment, tastfully furbished. The space is pleasant and confortable and her paintings are remarquable.
Gabrielle is a really nice host who accommodated all my needs. Her apartment is clean and really large for NYC standards. Had AC units in the bedroom and the living room, which is a must when staying in the city in the summer. Over all I was pleased with the overall apartment. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because the location is not ideal, but that's only because it was a challenge getting to and from the train station with all my luggage. Ended up spending a little extra money on cabs. Thanks again, Gabrielle!
Gabrielle is certainly a great host & very friendly.
Responded quickly to any questions and was extremely helpful.
We stayed in this apartment for 8 nights and enjoyed our stay.
The apartment is very welcoming, clean and spacious with the comforts of home and is just as in the photos. It is approx a 10 min walk to the closest metro. It easily catered for our family of 4 and have no problem recommending it. Also Gabrielle's talented artwork makes for a wonderful display.
It was a pleasure dealing with Gabrielle. Always quick in her communications and answered all our questions. What did us good was the fact that she text us half way our stay to see if everything was ok. Feels good if someone cares to do that when you are far away from home.
Oh, and here art is Amazing!
Staying at Gabrielles's place was just perfect! The appartment is sunny and clean, just like in the pictures. Besides, she is very friendly and available to answer any questions. I would go back there anytime!
It was a pleasure to host Gabrielle! We had some great conversations and I felt so comfortable around her from the beginning that I probably talked her ear off;) She makes the most of her time and is interested in the local culture so please make sure to have a small list of special places for her to see. I was amazed at everything she was able to accomplish, especially some long trips along the coast and into the interior. She's a wonderful person and we'd definitely host her again!
Gabrielle is quiet educated and gentle girl. To have her in home was just fine and smooth, she brought light and warmness to the place
. Big Kiss and hug Gabi !

Was a magic meting because i have my family in America and now i know that i also can stay in a place like mine ,with a wonderful hostess
Gabby is the best! We have been friends for about two years now. I met her at her housewarming and was BLOWN away at the amazingness of her apartment. It’s huge, but cozy at the same time. Her style is impeccable and her space reflects her creativity as an artist. We’ve had many movie nights at her pad and they always end with me falling asleep in her huge comfy couch. Location-wise, she is in one of the best neighborhoods in Brooklyn, and only a walk from Prospect Park, the Brooklyn Museum (first Saturday’s anyone?), and Brooklyn Library. Not only is her space one of a kind, Gabby is a great person as well. She is extremely friendly and giving and has a calming personality that puts you at ease. She’s a lover of food, bikes, traveling and all things creative! If you have the chance, I would definitely stay at her unique Brooklyn apartment, I guarantee you are in for a treat.
